| i saw it because i have played the games.this anime series is seriously disappointing.i only liked the music.the pace is so slow that i couldnt watch after it 14 eps. |

| Being a person who once they find something interesting, they like it. [That's me] I actually found this anime extremely interesting. I'm not someone who really enjoys all the fighting against monsters in the series. I enjoyed watching it every second, even some episodes people didn't like, I enjoyed. I rated this 10/10 if I could go higher I would. |

| Roots lacked the development and suspense that made .hack//SIGN so great. The character animations were rather bland to be honest and the story flow was...mediocre at best. This is rather disappointing since the games are great and surpass the anime in every way. Also, this series would have done much better if Yuki Kajiura had kept doing the music. Ali Project is one of the worst groups to ever come out of Japan and their pitiful excuse for "music" only served to degrade the anime even more. Luckily, the opening theme "Silly-Go-Round" by FictionJunction YUUKA was good. |

| Such a shitty pacing. Removing all the interesting characters who had DEVELOPMENT for characters who did fuck all at the halfway point was the nail in the coffin. The only saving grace of this show was the enjoyable music. |
| This series is soooo boring so far..I am 14 episodes in and it is almost unbearable to watch! I found it funny that even in the show one of the characters mentioned how "bored" they were xD. Honestly if the characters are bored of doing nothing what do they think (they as in the producers of the show) the audience is going to think? This show is so incredibly slow, there's only like 10 episodes left and barely anything has happened..what a waste. Compare this show to SAO (somewhat similar storyline..except way better), pretty much same amount of episodes..but soo much more happens because they jam pack every episode with action and storyline. .hack//roots is the same crap every episode.."look for twilight key?" "Where is Ovan?" etc..mrgh..I hope the last 10 episodes will pick up, otherwise I'm giving this show a 1/10. |

| Just got done re-watching this show. Honestly, it feels like it's trying to ride on SIGN's coattails but doesn't have the stuff to back it up. There are weird cuts, pauses and animation mistakes all over the place and the music wasn't nearly as good as it was in SIGN. The story was a bit clunky but overall fine, except for the fact that it's unfinished and makes you play three games if you want a proper conclusion because of Cyberconnect's usual bullshit. Tabby's definitely my favourite character, everyone else is just kind of... meh. That's kind of my opinion on the whole show... meh. |
