Woke up early for this... >_>

Looking foward to the USA versus China which is expected to have at least one billion viewers making it probably the most highly watched basketball game in history. I don't see USA losing this one at all and expect nothing short of a blowout (not as huge as the blowouts in the exhibtion though). I just hope Yao does well since I'm a fan of the Rockets.

Anyone cheering for any of the other countries? Suprising that Argentina lost their first round. They are one of the top favorites.

Well Lithuania did beat Argentina so I say they are off to a pretty good start.

Halftime: USA 49, China 37

China actually kept it close until the second half of the second quarter. China's guards are extremely terrible at ballhandling. The turnovers then turned into a dunkfest for USA... and they were some nasty dunks too. xD

Don't understand why China isn't utilizing Yao in the post more which is his greatest strength. Most of the time he is standing at the top of the three point line and the guards are jacking up threes which is the main reason they were in the game the first place, but then they became way too dependant on it.

HAHA i almost missed the damn thing!
i only got 2 hours of sleep but the missed hours was well worth it considering all the stuff i got to see and record breakers.

But at the half WTF!?!?

6/10 for free throws (D Wade and Lebron only ones missing FT shots)
1/12 at the 3pt line (they need michael REDD!!)
at the half?!? wtfux....

During the FIBA games they looked real strong but they're finally pulling away at the half which is a good sign considering they were about a 3-4pt difference when i tuned in. They were probably waiting for me to watch the game to pull their heads out ;)

On a side note, its nice to see Yao Ming and Yi Jianlan improve much better as compared to last olympics.

Yu Jianlan has sucked so far in this game though. 1-8 FG from the field and turnovers early in the game. Yao is decent so far for playing at 60-70% health after recovering from his injury, but he's still not getting enough touches.

Yeah, it would of been a bigger blowout already if USA hit their outside jumpers. Looks like China is still trigger happy on those threes. Gonna be a 20+ lead soon.

well now the score is where it was expected :P

...cant believe Yao is in for so long. And im still waiting for some Redd action. :(
But they're putting on a good show, so many photo opportunities!! And i know you saw that monster block laid on LeBron by that small Point Guard right?!? :)

and only 11 pts for China in the 3rd quarter, they must be gettin hella tired

Yao looks freakin tired.

Yeah lmao at LeBron getting blocked. It's embarassing especially if it's against an inferior team (EDIT: and 1 billion people watching). They should use this time to practice their outside shooting. 84-50.... xD

Well they cleaned up Spain pretty nice

If this is the tournaments toughest team, then this should be a cakewalk for the rest of the way.

Nothing but blowouts for USA the whole tournament so far. Defense looks good and the athleticism will wear down other teams.

USA vs Australia in the semi quarterfinals. Should be quite easy too.
