| Mannn, that freakin SUCKED! Not the story, I mean what happened to the main character dude. Poor him. I'm not surprised he killed himself, honestly. Everything was in the gutters already, my god. He loves his girlfriend obviously, and then he find out "they're" going to have a baby! He must be happy, I mean he seems to be a good hearted guy. Then he finds out his brother, somebody who he also obviously loves, is actually doing his girlfriend and thus the baby isn't his. The carpet is pulled out from under him and everything he loves suddenly is gone. And to top it all off, he's going to be caught by some bad people and his fate of being tortured to death is set in place. God is an unfair man and dude has nothing but misfortune left for him on the earth so BAM, that's his only choice. Death. Sad story man, but pretty powerful for me. I'm a personal hater of cheaters and I dunno if this is obvious or not, but considering the girl was calling out the brother's name when she was giving birth, i'm guessing the baby is the brother's. Baby looks like the main charac. cause well, the brother and the main charac do share similar genes so I suppose it's utterly possible for baby to look like daddy's big bro. Sad sad story. I'm very upset right now. I was thinking the brother may be lying to the main charc. for the sake of..i dunno the baby? But I highly doubt it. Brother should know what happens to people who betray those certain people cause the main character knew. Dude was a misfortune man. I'm already setting up hate club for the slut and the brother. Honestly. If this is just a big misunderstanding on my part, and the baby is actually the main charac. and the slut and the brother are just playing some sick cruel demented joke, it really doesn't matter cause that still puts them on par with their nicknames. | A pretty interesting little one shot. The art really had me hooked, and the story was fairly interesting - however the ending was unexpected. Damn, I mean - he didn't kill the guy whom he was after because he didn't want to become a murderer for his son -- but it turns out it wasn't even his son! And what's more is that his little brother was doing his girlfriend and that it was his son. Blah! Poor guy :( |

| I was kinda expecting him to kill himself, but seeing him actually do it was really surprising. I liked the story it'd have been better if it was longer though. IMO. Still, great artwork and a good story. Btw, that guy doesn't have to be his brother. They could just be calling each other brothers because they're very close. |

| Wow, the ending was really unexpected. In first place I was interested in this one shot because Takeshi Obata was the one who drew it. I love his artstyle and the drawings of the one shot look gorgous. I expected nothing else from him. The story started to get interessting, when Aya told her boyfriend, that she's pregnant. Imo it was kinda touching, that he did not want his son to be a son of a murderer. I wondered why his little brother resisted to drive into a hospital... but then he pulled out the gun and said he's the father.. THAT was surprising! No wonder he wanted his Aniki in prison. I wonder who the real father is actually. The baby really looked like the main character, but Aya was calling Taka-Chan all the time, so I'm a bit confused. It's a pity that the main charater killed himself.. I'm still hoping that he's the real father. I don't think that the Taka-Chan guy is his real brother. In Digimon Savers Agumon says Aniki to Masaru very often, because they share a brotherly friendship. In Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker The pirates call Tetra Aniki, too, so I think that the guys aren't related. |

Umm, Taku calls Kin his "aniki" all the time, which is a word for big brother, used in yakuza circles. And Taku did mention that he was Kin's underling, didn't he. I believe there was no blood relation between those two. As for the baby, well, all native Japanese would have dark hair when they're born (I bet Taku's hair is bleached), and didn't Kin claim that all newborn babies look like monkeys - yet he thought the baby looked like him when he saw him at last. Kaneko wasn't his boss who would (or at least could) have been satisfied with just that. Kaneko was the one he failed to assasinate - twice - so it was a bit more serious... (Kin said to Aya that Shuei group would take care of her while he'd be in prison, and later on Kaneko thought Kin was an assassin from Shuei group.) I wasn't surprised by the ending at all, but that's just because I always watch/read everything wishing for this kind of endings but, alas, usually they end up staying alive. So for me everything seemed to lead to a suicide. I was like, "I wish he had a gun" when the other yakuza came from behind. The pacing, the angles and the art looked somewhat perfect to me. I felt like I could feel everything Kin was feeling. Well, apart from the love for his dearest, but I could figure it out quite well of his expressions and actions. Mm, despair was all that was left in the end... ahh. "Loved it!" |

| Well at the end I think it really was his kid cuz it did look like him and his skanky girlfriend Aya was banging both guys so she probably wasnt sure whos kid it was but I think she loved Taka more at the time so told him it was his kid, but it was Kin's kid all along!! So ironic cuz he knew at the end!! |

| Fucked up story, really. But it was nice - something cliched told in a surprising kind of way. I'm thinking that it's Kin's child since that would make the ending more ironic, and since it does look like him. I agree with anime978, actually. =_= |

| WOW I wasn't expecting a suicide still this one-shot was pretty good. As for the child I think it was the brothers too seeing as Aya was calling his name though I suppose it would be kind of ironic if it was Kin's. |
| I think the "brothers" thing was yakuza-talk, and Kin and Taku were unrelated. My interpretation: Aya thought Taku was the baby's father, which is why she was calling out his name. She must have been lonely when Kin was doing undercover work and formed an attachment to Taku which lead to their relationship. But, ironically, the baby was actually Kin's at the end. The suicide came out of nowhere for me, wow! |

| I really liked this is as an "anti-gangster" work. Despite his cool looks, Kin-chan is a loser and a failure who isn't able to assassinate his target or even cut off his own finger. His Yakuza princess is nothing more than a lying whore who claims she can wait 20 years for him, when in reality, she couldn't even last 4 months. His "brave underling" is a pathetic coward who steals his woman. The fat Yakuza he's trying to assassinate turns out to be fairly non-evil based on his conversation about the sewage. The "epic final encounter" is Kin falling to pieces and killing himself. No romanticism or bullshit; just a cold hard deconstruction of the genre. |
