| Pretty good for an opening. Moved a little slow since with the first chapter being over sixty pages I was expecting whatever "status quo" they're going for to have been set up by the end. Oh well. I liked it. You say "not special for a shonen" but shounen series are all about characters (well, and plot to me but seemingly to no one else), and Sakurakouji and Ogami Rei are quite unique for shonen series. I mean, we've seen characters like Sakura before (Fuuko from Flame of Recca, for instance) but they've never been given the spotlight like this one has. And Ogami is definitely different from the usual "Hero of Justice!!!!" kinda guy. I don't wholly approve of the killing, but I like him anyway. I can't really object though. Those guys were pretty evil and he offered them the chance to turn themselves in, and they didn't take it. Too bad. BTW....the dog's name was Dog? Wow. That's just unoriginal. I know what they were meaning to say was that she was actually calling him Dog instead of whatever the Japanese word for dog is (inu?), but still. :P |

| Pretty close with the manga/anime adaptation so far. I don't remember about the confession scene but everything fitted well. And a moment of silence for Dog. |
