THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- lol~ @ Ohana's comment about Tooru (to cover about her problem). The girl is asking Ohana to give up Kou-chan. and Tooru is trying out every food, even sushi toy. Minko sensing that Tooru is jealous of Kou-chan? Phone call between Ohana and Kou-chan are sad. lol~ Ohana's mother is ended up going! So she said the same thing as Ohana to grandma. |

Another enjoyable episode and decent end to the Tokyo arc, even if things with Ko remain unresolved for now. Can't really dislike the bookstore girl since she's basically right (even though much of it is rooted in self-interest). Ohana needs to spend less time feeling horrible about herself and more time sorting out her feelings so she can give him a proper answer. It just looks like she's running away and would rather Ko make the decision for her (by giving up on her). No surprise to anyone, but Tooru just sees Minko as an apprentice. If he saw her as a girl, he wouldn't have forced her to stuff all that down to the point of puking. No Minko, it's not like a date. It was a bit hard to watch actually. Ohana's mom is interesting. I really enjoyed her talks with Tooru. Sounded like she might've been a little hurt that Ohana seemed to care more for Kissui (and by extension her grandma?) than her mother. |

Oh no, does this mean bye bye to Ko-chan? Ko-chan should go to Kissuisou :( When Tooru was saying "We're taking this Koichi guy along as well." I really like it! It's like he want same head-to-head competition with him...and will make the anime more interesting :> Stupid ohana got affected by the meganeko. |

Hmm, a bit disappointed with this episode. Other wise Tooru and Ohana's mom are friendly, so Ohana has no worries if her and Tooru get married and have a ton of kids together. :* Anyway I'm mad at Ko, I'm not sure why though. xD |

With 14 episodes to go, I doubt this will be the last we see of Ko-chan (it better damn not be). I think one of the main points of Ohana's character development is her learning to rely on other people, and Ko-chan's supportive nature and romantic interest in her seem to be a driving force in that, even if it kinda had the opposite effect of making Ohana thinking she doesn't deserve him for now (and it better just be "for now"). I also agree with ArcticMech's point about her trying to make Ko-chan make the decision for her. Tohru almost got bro points for what I thought was trying to make Ohana be more honest about her feelings/relationship to Ko-chan, but his behavior afterwards forced me to withhold them. Something about that guy just doesn't sit right with me. I honestly don't think I've raged this hard over shipping before. I feel kinda dirty. |

Why exactly Touru wanted to take Ko along? And I didn't catch Ohana introducing Ko to Touru in the first place. And even if she did, wouldn't she just introduce him as Ko, instead of Koichi? |

I actually agree with the megane girl. Ohana has Ko "on hold" and doesn't give him a decent reply to his feelings, yet, she keeps making him having hopes with her. The one i strongly disliked in this ep was Ohana, because she was on the phone with Ko and told him "not to come", instead of saying the opposite. I really feel my heart broken for Ko. It is not his fault, since everytime he tries to reach Ohana, she says one of those quotes that no one understands, creates misunderstandings ans doesn't even bothers to explain it. Im almost sure nothing will happen between Ohana´s mom and Tooru. Wasn't it clear that Tooru loves Ohana? Those who cannot see that are blind, since even Minko already knows somehow. I felt like it was a goodbye of Ko x Ohana, and i bet, sooner or later Ohana will start looking at Tooru differently since he has been kind to her and is protecting her and watching over her as a sort of "Ko´s substitute". Ohana is oblivious so im waiting for Tooru to confess. Only then she will manage to deal with her feelings and realize whom she loves. |

Well, it's not a final good bye for all you OhanaxKo shippers out there. But damn was it an ugly episode in regards to any possible future. Hell, it looks like I said earlier. She's almost to the point where she's ready to give him away to the "nice girl", Namiko. Namiko was right, though it seemed her stance was in her own best interest. Ohana has made a mess of her relationship with Ko and still is being stupid about it. She's still being a flake about it. She can't even define her feelings for him properly when prompted to. In Namiko's defense. She cares about Ko and is straight forward in her opinions and feelings. She sees it as a girl who's trampling on a guys feelings by being wishy washy about his confession and it's leaving him in limbo. She wants a future with him and isn't a flake about her feelings and feels resentment towards Ohana who is a total mess emotionally right now. I'm sure there's at least one or two more episodes that will play out the Ko saga before the resolution to the arc is final. I think it might get back burner for the next few episodes. Tohru and Minko in this episode was funny. Poor Minko is a mess right now and now Tohru's got her binging and purging on high end cuisines. Minko's reactions seem weird to me. She's to the point where she don't know what to think of Ohana anymore. She's not as cold to her, but she isn't budding up to her either. Tohru's obvious crushing on Ohana is starting to weigh on her. Poor girl is starting to resemble Anjou for Ano Hana; she's tragically in love with someone who won't even pay attention to her unless it involves his plans. Mom suddenly deciding to come back with them was funny. I think Ohana's words did get to her a bit. I think she also has some ulterior motive than just showing up to give Kissiuso a proper review. I sure can see some fireworks happen when Okami and Okaasa get together, that should be a treat. |

And suddenly, there's an episode that scores a perfect 10/10. I was already impressed by last week's episode, but this one demonstrated that the series was capable of good drama after all. Episode 12 is not inferior to AnoHana drama at all, in fact, I'd almost say that it is even better. It is a clever mixture of light comedy, dramatic revelations and most important of all, an incredible amount of character development for Ohana. 1. Comedy Aspect Unlike in previous episodes, the comedic moments blend in well with the rest of the episode. It's much more amusing to watch Tooru as he tries to vent his anger about Ko-chan on eating lots and LOTS of food and getting lots and LOTS of stuffed sushi toys than to watch survival gamers running around in the inn. Minko's woes and jealousy are lightened up by a couple a funny faces which she makes while watching Tooru's weird antics and eating so much that she actually feels like throwing up. I don't really like how Tooru treats Minko as he literally commands her to eat and doesn't even show the slightest bit of concern for her when she throws up. Being preoccupied with Ohana is not a good excuse for this sort of behavior, it just shows his social deficiencies and not-so-amiable personality. He's lucky that Minko is a masochist who won't ever speak up or disagree (I don't care whether he has a heart of gold or not and I couldn't care less about his tsundere appeal - he should at least possess some emotional intelligence). But that's a whole other issue. 2. Drama Aspect & Character Development Similar to the previous episode, the drama revolves around Kou-chan and Satsuki. At first I was sceptical about the megane girl (I thought she was rather rude) but her confrontation worked wonders. She reveals a lot about Kou to Ohana which actually causes the latter to THINK about her actions (yay, she finally uses her brain!). For the majority of the series, Ohana has been like a blind ox - always unable to see the big picture because she is too focused on a certain matter. It has been pointed out before but the series sort of forgot about this (it even encouraged her rashnes) until now. The phone call with Kou-chan completes Ohana's transformation and she realizes that while she might have been trying her best to "fest things up", she also forgot to think about the people who worry about her. As we've seen, Ohana has the tendency to think that she's the only capable person, whether it is to bring Tooru back to the inn or to make her mother visit Kissuiso. (There's also been some breaking the 4th wall going on when Ohana muses over her own personal "drama series" which made me smile) At this point, I think that no one can tell what exactly she feels for Kou. He is important to her without doubt but she is clearly hesistant to enter the "next stage" with him. Ohana is the type of person that pours their heart into everything they do. However she lacks the security and experience to tell whether she can commit to him full-heartedly. Kou is in Tokyo, has a nice girl who didn't cause him pain over and over again waiting for him while Ohana is off in Kissuiso, a place she pretty much calls home now. I don't blame Ohana for being so indecisive, she couldn't shake off her insecurities but clearly acknowledges them. The girl has to grow up first. After realizing her own shortcomings, she decides not to bother Kou-chan and her mother anymore. Ironically, her mother also had a similar epiphany and suddenly agrees to visit Kissuiso. Satsuki is as cheerful as always, however, it isn't difficult to see that there's something much deeper below the surface. I especially loved Satsuki's dialogue with Tooru (it was beautiful in its own way, even relatable, yes) which proves that with some development she could become an amazing character - not an amazing mother, but an amazing character. Perhaps Satsuki herself is still in the process of maturing and settling down; I'm curious to see where her personal journey will take her. In any case, Satsuki has become my favorite character of the show. She's always in the "wrong" but the fact she can talk about herself like that simply amazes me. I also love how she never directly tells Ohana what she thinks and always masks her thoughts with irrelevant chatter. This mother-daughter relationship is going to be awesome. Not to mention the grandma-mom-daughter dynamic. Satsuki probably knows that her daughter won't leave Kissuiso because she only asks Ohana to return with her while the latter's asleep. Ohana on the other hand overhears her mother's words but her thoughts wander off to Kou how they can't go back to being friends as before. Ohana has to bid farewell to her old relationship with Kou and whether or not the farewell will make room for something new to bloom (with or without Kou) has yet to be seen. The title "See Ya" is perfect for this week's episode in this respect. Favorite Quotes: << I said "Later", but he responded with "See Ya" >> <<Having a mother who isn't right should be amazing.>> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- On a sidenote to all those shippers out there: I don't think anything's decided yet. Tooru end and Kou end are both possible, everything is open and it's not like Kou has been written out of the plot. But next week's episode should primarily focuse on Sui - Satsuki - Ohana, which is a good thing after all the abundant ship tease and additions to the polygon. |

This was a pretty damn good episode, but I have a feeling that next week it's going to go back to the usual. Also, that phone conversation was awfully disappointing and I'm guessing we won't see Ko again for another 5-10 episodes /sigh. Ohana really sucks at concluding things the right way, even though she realised she was doing something wrong. "Don't come" indeed! Silly Ohana, I don't think that's what he wanted to hear. I actually felt quite bad for Minchi this episode. Tohru doesn't care about her at all. TohruxSatsuki is my new OTP :P |

HawthorneKitty said: I somewhat agree with Lulexiaa... While Ohana definitely needed a wake up slap and that girl was partially right, she was also assuming several things without knowing anything about Ko and Ohana's relationship. Ohana doesn't really know her own feeling but that girl already decided on what were those, and she doesn't seem to know either about the fact that they were friends for a long time... Of course, it's not really easy to be objective when it's you own feelings in the line, so that behavior is somehow understandable.Lulexiaa said: I'd like to hear your reasoning for this as she is the most competent person in the realm of love in this anime. That glasses girl is such a bitch! What I definitely didn't like about her is that she tells Ohana to set Ko free, instead of telling her to make up her mind or give him a proper answer. The way I see it she doesn't care about Ko's feelings but her own instead. On the other hand, Ohana's passive attitude is definitely more exasperating. |

Pretty nice episode. That girl working at the book store is indeed better suited for Ko chan that Ohana i think it would be a pretty good relationship. And Ohana apologizing to Ko chan is a good thing tho i would have preferred it if she did it straight to his face. Still it's a good thing she managed to distance herself from him she should be a bit more clear about this towards him tho so that he can move on. Ohana's coming along with them was a bit unexpected she is wiser then i thought. It was also nice seeing her previous argument with her mother Ohana's grandmother i wonder if she will be able to solve it. And next week should be interesting. Thoru being worried and checking out every famous place in Tokyo was pretty interesting tho it seems Minko had a very harsh time because of that. Eating that much food must have been terrible. |

Tohru really made the ep very enjoyable anytime he was present. Another bonus part is when Ohana got PWN'd HARD by that glasses gal. It's a well-established fact that I have a strong dislike agaisnt 2-D glasses girl but this one is simply a-m-a-z-i-n-g for doing that and she'd score even better in my Bantora boob if she were to give Ohana a bitchslap as an extra credit too. Other than that, I stopped caring about this cheap dorama whenever Ohana opened her mouth so I could care less about her bawling and stuff, even Minchi's section was easier to masturbate to... I mean, easier to relate to... "Wooooaaaaa... He said "See ya" and I said "later" so that means we won't see each other again?" ----- Wai-.... Wat? Is that a translation error or this girl is simply mental? Well, I've been having suspicions about her contracting some flowery ADHD for a while so that's not really a surprise... I don't really mind the suggested Ohana's mom x Tohru either because she seems to be better than both Minchi & Ohana, especially the reason why she wrote that BS stemmed from the fact that she still wanna be rebellious at this age and possibly for teh LULZ. So there you have it, Ohana's mom > Minchi + Ohana. If it's still about the triangle between Tohru clinging to Ohana's pedobear panties with Minchi clinging to his strawberry boxer then a whale is fine too. Minchi still looks good, if not best with him, in term of looks and as long as she's not "balut-ing" her mouth... I might be slightly disappointed but for sure won't cut myself like some here would do. What matters to me is whether Tohru will be satisfied or not and if he's cool then so am I. With this ep putting in account, I'm even more convinced that this should be the final verdict where the glasses girl will ultimately get dumped and seek comfort in Mr. Bean's scrawny arms. Serves you rite, you antagonist glasses bitch!!! Tsuki-Hime said: Lulexiaa said: That glasses girl is such a bitch! She's not a bitch. EXACTLY! She's not a bitch, she's a glasses bitch!!!! This episode was quite likeable for several reasons. One, there were less coincidences, which added realism to the series. Two, Tohru was given more lines. I've been a TohruxOhana shipper since the beginning, but based on my dislike for Ko-chan. Now, however, seeing his mature outlook and abilities, I'm happy that the pairing is a possibility. And I like the Meganekko. Her straight forwardness and ability to express herself without stuttering are formidable qualities. In comparison to her, Ohana seemed almost airheaded to me. TohruxSexymomma is an impossibility taking her ex-boyfriend's appearance as an indication. Interpreting the last few thoughts of Ohana, I can't help but think that whatever she's feeling towards Koichi right now, although she's not able to put them into verbal words, are probably not amorous feelings. And I don't think things will ever work out that way. Unless Koichi somehow manages to become a part of the Inn. |

Why do people say the Bookstore girl is a bitch ? I don't get it. From my Point of view she's way better than Ohana who's running away since the beginning. That glasses girl know what she wants and she's not using any dirty trick to have Ko. She was absolutely right. Ohana is the bitch right now for putting Ko on hold and kind of playing with his feeling without even knowing it. She may not be aware of it but she's hurting him and it sounds to me like she's using him to fell better. She calls him when she needs help otherwise she doesn't seems to care. This episode was like a... 4/10 ? lol It's starting to get annoying to see no evolution from Ohana and always the same Drama on repeat... Honestly.. I don't dislike Tohru. I like the Character... kinda and I get that he likes Ohana however it feels like she's 10 year younger. He must be like what... 25 or close and she looks like she's 15... O.o' I feel sorry for Minko that he doesn't care about her. As the Girl with glasses said; He likes her as a Human being not a a Girl !... |

Peoples just hate her because she's getting in ohana way but they don't realize she's not using dirty tricks. while ohana is definitely hurting Kou. when she was giving advice to Tohru "believe yourself and fest it up" .. i was thinking look who's the one talking. her confessor is waiting for six months. Peoples here thinking glasses girl was assuming all things. lol.. whatever she assumed was exactly right.. she asked her directly in the end "how you liked him then". ohana said "human and as a living creature" just LOL xD .. i wish if kou had listened this "coincidentally" i do not support ohanaxtohru.. ohana don't deserve any of them. she's getting more annoying every passing episode. |

I'm going to ship Satsuki x Tarou, since the failed porn writer is clearly the most unsuitable male at the hotsprings and her romantic history would suggest she'll make a beeline for him. With Satsuki as a role model is it any wonder that Ohana doesn't really know how to deal with a love relationship? Even if she screwed things up with Ko, at least she has some feelings towards him, thus far she seems to have relegated Tohru to the "another living creature" category as well. Also how old is Satsuki? I'm figuring between 33 and 35 since she seems the type to run off and get pregnant as part of her rebellion against Sui. It looks like she might finally be starting to mature, but it's awfully late for her to actually start acting like a responsible mother to Ohana. |

I was anticipating a more emotion filled episode between Ohana and Ko because of the preview last episode but since this is not the end of their relationship, I guess it's fine. On to the episode.. Tohru is jealous of Ko and Minchi is jealous of Ohana.. a Love Square? xD.. LOL at Ohana trying to kidnap her mom and also to Tohru for trying to take Ko with them :D.. seems like he wants a one on one duel with Ko LOL.. I feel sad for Minchi, aside for her throwing up because of the various foods Tohru made her eat, while being with Tohru,Tohru thinks about Ohana.. and I think she knows it.. I wonder how long she can lasts.. Ohana's mom, I think she was exactly like Ohana when she was younger, that look on her face and the tears in her eyes makes it more obvious that Ohana is an exact copy of her, but I wonder why she left Kissuiso, and what will happen when she sees her mother again.. and I think she bribed Tohru good with the ticket xD.. Well, expecting a good episode again next week :)) |

Ashikabi said: Tohru is 23, Ohana is 16, Minko also 16 Weird somehow I felt like Minko was older than Ohana =O Anyway... a 23 years old dude with a 16 years old girl seems weird to me anyway. That's... 7 years between them still. |

7 years older does not equal a few years according to Satsuki. She made it sound like it was only 3 years or something. Or maybe the subbers made it seem that way. Minko deserves someone better than Tohru. I do not understand how she can be attracted to his callous tongue when she has one herself. All they would do is verbally fight if they were ever together (unless that becomes a turn on). Now if it were someone similar to Ohana... Is there really only two capable males on this show? Jiro-san and Okami's son are nowhere near compatible with any of the available women on this show. I suppose the young ones are always creating drama. |

ArcticMech said: Can't really dislike the bookstore girl since she's basically right (even though much of it is rooted in self-interest). Ohana needs to spend less time feeling horrible about herself and more time sorting out her feelings so she can give him a proper answer. It just looks like she's running away and would rather Ko make the decision for her (by giving up on her). ^ This |

2nd that. Ohana's being a bitch for putting Ko on hold, who seriously cares about her....but the only thing that bugged me about the glasses girl is how she butts into their childhood friendship (relationship ?xp) and tells her whats what without knowing anything. kinda like "who are you to being saying that? you're just some random bitch.", but then again she's correct. not against or with her. and why is everyone hating on Tohru? lol i thought he was pretty likable. but i also found it weird he seems to like Ohana on a high school-crush level, considering he's 23 and she's 16....idk. |

How old is Ohana's mom anyway?? 30s? 40s? I just dont want to think about her with Tohru! >.< Wont it be pretty awkward if Tohru became Ohana's dad?? I know I am coming to a lot of conclusions even though not much has happened between Tohru and the mom, but thats just cause I REALLY DONT WANT THEM TOGETHER! ;__; I am a OhanaxTohru shipper after all.... and i dont really care about the age difference... |

Really liked the episode! It was kind of weird how Minko was forced to eat more after she puked :O seems like Tohru starting to like ohana and Minko is getting pissed like in the previous episodes. It was interesting to find out more about ohanas mom's past and were she hitting on Tohru? xP I'm a little bit relieved about the relationship between Ko and Ohana because i don't know how to think about Ko i don't really like him but there are 14 episodes left maybe something will change! :3 |
