Let's bring back to life the club, or at least let's try...

Sadly there wasn't threads like this one.
Simply, I'd like to share the reason for why we like Akari.

I think that she is wonderful. To be able to express and feels the emotions of small things, to be able to sense the kindness of the world... I think Akari is one of the purest, authentic characters that I have ever seen.
I'd like Akari to be "alive" in this world because to be with her would mean to see the deep colors of the life. When I will encounter a girl like her I think I would fall in love withouth doubts @_@

And she's cute!! She is "too" much naive at time, but could be a merit...

So please express yourself for what you like and not like to her (I didn't like too much her hairstyle but that was "fixed" at the ending, she is wonderful in that).

Her personality, of course. Kindness. And steel nerve: remember, we didn't see her angry even once. Strange to say that but I wanna learn that skill from her. xD
And of course that "goddamn it's wonderful!!!" stuff is just great.:)

Her Kindness, her great smile, her attitude to have fun at all things that she does. Not only the funny things but also the bad things. I'm jealous of her because having fun at things which are not so funny isgreat. She is open minded to alle things she is confrotated with. ( I don't know if this is right in English)
If there would be more people like Akari in our world it would be such a peaceful world and we would notice how great our planet and our life is.

I don't think that is right to call that "steel nerve"... Akari has gotten a little angry sometimes, it's only that she cannot express it! I am very much like her in this aspect so I can understand a little. The fact that she got angry very rarely is true.
And I like very much the fact that she, somehow, maturates during the manga. She doesn't need to mature emotionally since she is great at this but the initial Akari isn't the experienced Akari at the end and that is a beautiful thing!

So one aspect that I don't like very much is her super deformed style... she seems too stupid in that and Akari isn't stupid, she's the opposite... And at first didn't like the momiage but now i adore them.

Sorry for the messed english but I'm sleepy.

Thing is, I really need to learn much from her, since I'm working with people too. That's why I watched and read Aria not only like animanga (which stunned me like a 57mm caliber) but like a communication manual too. And Akari is exactly the "look how to do this right" person. :)

Yeah I'm surprised a topic like this, didn't exist before.

Any way, she is definitley a top tier character for me for many reasons.

Her overall personality is very unique despite some of concepts of it not being unique. Like, there are plenty of "nice" girls that love everything out there, but I feel like Akari not only pulls this off the best, but she also has a very entertaining and a non-bland personality to boot with it.

The fact that she's an amazing character that makes you appreciate all the little things in life is one thing. However she definitley isn't perfect, and goes though quite a lot of experiences to mature and have a good sense of the world and be experienced along with having her ever so loving and optimistic personality.

The fact that she was able to communicate very well with almost everyone was a pretty interesting trait.

I could rant on but Akari just has so many great qualities as a character (and manages to NOT be perfect which is something I dislike), that I can't help but love her)

Honestly the only flaw with her that I have is spending too much time with Cait Sith >_>
I'm just a big visual novel fan but have also watched quite a bit of anime and played a bunch of games. Avatar is Mashiro from Making*Lovers and Kotori from Rewrite.

The perspective to have a furry rival over a 2d character isn't so wonderful...
Yes superangelo, I agree with you. Akari is perfect, because she isn't perfect.

it's more Cait Sith being a meh/unnecessary character to me

I wouldn't mind Akari getting with a good character

Haha, that was actually a quote from Alicia herself. It's in one of the manga chapters (like 50ish), I can't believe they didn't show it in the anime.

She is just great! Cheerful, cute and a little childish but still intelligent and strong. Her "prohibited comments" are always full of wisdom, and just beautiful. And she believe in Cait Sith, even if he loks like to be only part of fairy tale, it's so cute :)

She gives happy moments to everyone, happy-go-lucky, and always nice. She's an explorer type. (Amanchuu's Pikari is very similar)

Akari was called "Aquamarine" because:
1. While the water reflects only what it sees, the Aquamarine reflects its images in the most beautiful radiance
2. Aquamarine is the stone that symbolizes protection for all sailors. Akari is the protector of Aqua's happiness

The way she sees wonderful things in even the most mundane things.
The way she notices the smallest things.
The way she loves every encounter she faces.
The way she treasure each and every person she meets.
Akari's recognition of value of everything, her love for all of creation is a trait that is not so flashy but is so fundamentally important.

What makes Akari lovable can be seen not with flashy Moe traits like dere-s of Tsundere, Yandere etc. But her simple childlike demeanor, and her wonderful expression of her wonderful thoughts.

Akari Moe is simple yet fundamental for a girl.
