| I really want to watch this, and the dub has great voice actors. What I want to know is if they use Shakespearian language. I also want to know how much it sticks to the original story. I couldn't find anything like this on MAL. Please refrain from spoilers. This is really to decide whether I watch it dubbed or not. I don't care if it's a good dub, I care if it follows original dialogue. |

| Well, the characters have the same names And the families are, um, in a feud of sorts? That's about it. They do have some Shakespeare quotes now and then though, although the poems sound pleasant in Japanese too. |

Stuff like "Art thou a Montague?" and things like that. |

| The original dialogue is in Japanese. They use the same stiff language they use in their regular, historical series - but it's just stiff, not archaic. They also use some direct quotes, but rarely. I don't know how the dub decided to translate it, but I'm guessing it would be the same as every other historical anime: regular, everyday English. |

Zero1990 said: actually, if you're looking for the classic Shakespearean style of dialogue, you really want to watch the English dub. They really went out of their way to capture the essence of Shakespeare's poetic style in their lines. I watched the first few minutes before the OP and I like the dub. I think I'll go with it, but I might rewatch it subbed one day. Thanks. |
