| props for the ending. it was a lot better than other 'take the power away' endings. I really liked the tie-in from wait for the next generation to the baby in the last page of ch. 36. |
| Well for a good series that ending was certainly a bit of a let down, espically after wasting earlier chapters on pure fanservice and ramping it up to the end like that. I have read much worse endings though. I dont know if the author was trying to leave the storey with the possibility of going back later and hasnt had the time yet or wether they were trying some new age open ending that we see in harem series, to inspire discussion, thought and fan stories i just dont know. In the end I dont think their relationship was that loveless, I think she had some feelings towards him. Noitice when she talking about using him she talks in past tense about only wanting to use him for his powers, perhaps her reasons where starting to change. She also looked quite sullen and had her eyes downcast when talking about him leaving her and going into the organisations care. His grandfather makes the comment "oh? you arent looking like your usual self", personally I think her look was one of genuine affection. That being said I would have liked to see more romance. I think the point of the picture at the end was to show that they had a child. I think they made a point of showing the dads hair (while maintaining his mystery) and then the familys, so that you could see the light hair and conclude who the parents are. If you notice none of his friends are at school so there is a time skip there for sure, therefore there has been time for the two of them to procreate. If the child has variations of both its parents powers what a strong esper it will be. The president said that the two of them together were a powerful/unstoppable couple, so their child will insane even his grandfather said as much. |
