While they didn't seem too interested in fleshing things out for people who hadn't read the manga, I didn't find the result particularly confusing, just pretty bland. |

| Yeah, this anime should've at least tried for a 6 episode OVA to make the story somewhat fulfilling. That's true. Ashura is pretty much genderless. The profile for Ashura says that Ashura was cursed to be genderless and that the world has no gender-neutral pronouns so Ashura usually ends up being called "He" or "She." So I found it annoying that they would call Ashura "she" throughout the sub, but I suppose that it was hard not to because Ashura has a female VA. Plus Ashura's character happens to probably be at least 13 maybe 14 years old which does not help with the gender identification either. |
| I'll just copy-paste my entry "comment" for general gist of what I thought about Veda "Another of old-school "oracle" type of fantasy Anime where lot of religions, factions and names get thrown around with a very divine/demonic magic and characters. That type usually has odd "slow" pacing and feel as well. Which can be good, but still feels very dated especially if seen a lot of Anime. It was kinda interesting but felt more of a mid-section of some sort of a bigger story. So somewhat service OVA for those who know about the world/plot. Wasn't bad, but didn't really amuse me either that much. Dated and a bit confusing without global context." |

| I genuinely liked this and will probably end up reading the manga! The world building is very CLAMP, and definitely reminded me of Magic Knight Rayearth (also made by CLAMP), so if you want a fully fleshed out 2 season series with the same art style I'd check that out. The world building also reminded me of Yona of the Dawn! Overall, it was fine, just a basic OVA series lol |
| Quick summary: - Ashura's mother shall die a terrible death - Kendappa sus as usual - Kujaku best character, no contest - Karura is even cooler animated - Taishakuten is even gayer animated - Yasha is even more boring animated - I liked the theme at about 20 minutes - That cliffhanger is larger than my house |
