| Now, I watched episode 1 and 2 when they came out I believe, and stopped since because lengthy release schedule, I figured to wait until a complete collection is out and watch the whole thing then. However, I watched a couple segments today of the latter produced entries, and while the fights are cool, man, it does not feel like Universal Century gundam. Too much drama with petty reasons and weird telekinetic and well, basically magic stuff that tends to happen (example: Unicorn vs Shamblo) Last I checked, Universal Century was a lot more grounded, per say, in realistic movement, somewhat believable actions and personalities, but everything about this one feels more like Seed or 00. Now, don 't misunderstand me, I'm fully aware the original UC had a lot of campy, dramatic bits too, but in the 30 minutes of the 2 segments I watched, jesus. If it weren't for Captain Bright showing up now and then and suits that look like Zakus, I wouldn't think I was watching a Universal Century series. Of course, what I watched also could just have been those sparse silly moments and the majority of it is better, at least I hope, because I love the designs in this one, heck, I have a Master Grade Unicorn in my room. Now, I've watched some of the preceding series, original MS, War in a Pocket (though I can't remember much of that one),, 8th MS, Stardust Memory and a little bit of Zeta and the Chars Counterattack movie, do I need to finish Zeta and ZZ first before I could fully comprehend this plot? As in, does this arc allude back to events in those two series? (other than stuff like the Titans, I know who they were). Also for fun, how powerful compared to other Gundams is the Unicorn? I remember in Gundam Dynasty Warriors 3 the Unicorn was extremely broken. |

So so far it was basically just those two fights that was all magic-y, well, I suspect those 2 and whatever the final fight will be like will have it, and I suppose that's fine, I was just worried they were going to coat every fight like that. | Yeah, after finishing this I went back to watch 0079 again and... It is right at home with UC. And in my humble opinion, I wouldn´t wanted it any other way :) |
