The dense woods looks really lovely in this chapter. Interesting take on her view of effects being normal too.

The name Madotsuki has yet to appear anywhere in the manga. I wonder whether it will ever be used. She's only been called "shoujo" so far, "the girl." If that design on her shirt was supposed to have been a window all this time (who knew?), it would make sense that the "窓付き" (madotsuki) in her character pane in the original game simply meant "girl with a window on her shirt" and that she was always intended to be a nameless protagonist.

However, Tomizawa Hitoshi does refer to her as Madotsuki in his comments on the official website. I sort of hope they do eventually use the name. It's a great one.

Also, the generally-accepted assumption that Madotsuki is a hikikomori (that she refuses to leave her room out of social anxiety) seems to be contravened by this adaptation. Here, she tries to leave her room, but is trapped in it by some unknown power. In the original game, if you try to open the door, Madotsuki makes no attempt to, she only stands there shaking her head. I guess this could be interpreted as her telling the player "not allowed." But there's another sound effect for illegal input elsewhere (the high-pitched "dame"), e.g. when trying to use dream effects in the real world. The more obvious interpretation is that Madotsuki herself refuses to leave her room, suggesting social withdrawal/phobia. With her muteness and impassive face, that was the only real, tangible clue to her personality. The manga's setting appears to disregard it entirely, though.

This is an official adaptation, made with Kikiyama's approval. However, without knowing the degree to which Kikiyama was involved in actually making the manga, it's impossible to say how much authority it should be given in interpreting the game, or to which extent it represents Kikiyama's original intentions.

One thing I'm glad about: the manga (so far) doesn't seem to buy the common line that Madotsuki must have suffered severe psychological trauma, just based on the fact that her dreams are really weird. What kind of dreams do the people saying that have? Perfectly normal stuff happening? Rainbows and sunflowers? I'd hate to see what they have to say about my dreams. I'd have been committed long ago.

Really love the game so i was really happy about hearing that it gets an anime. And my expections were fullfilled: It is very interesting and i want to know what happens next.

According to the locked door it could mean, that somebody is trying to get her mad so that she kills herself like in the game.
But we will see, what will happen.
Trying to watch all available anime series so you won't have to anymore, the list of anime I can recommend is still in progress, tho

Oh it's the corpse from the forest stage.
Still really cool to come back to this manga after experiencing everything in the game to see it in three dimensions.
The traffic light effect is cute too.
