Just out of curiosity, do you separate between a character that is dressing up just for the sake of dressing or for an external reason (for example princess princess) and a character that does it because they feel they are a girl (happiness/Jun)?

Of course. We cannot call everybody who puts on female clothes on a trap. Like Shiratori from Mahoraba, who is even on the trap set pic and that just cause crossdressed once. And even hated it. With that power why not call also Daisuke from DN Angel? Just look eps 20.
After them are the ones who crossdressing a lot + having female behavior, but just cause of some reason. They are the common traps.
And on the end the elite. Like Jun, Mizuho,Hamaji, Mariya and the armies of other visual novel characters. Woot for them ;3
What I really hate is when stupidity pairs up with effort.

I'm like Jun also, but I call myself a trap. Because until I get my surgery, that's what I am. *giggles*

I consider them all traps, because that's what they are. Pure and simple.

For me, being a trap isn't just crossdressing, it's a state of mind or at least being feminine enough inside. For example, Jun is the god of trap, Mizuho becomes one (interestingly reluctantly) but Makoto (Minami-ke) definitely ISN'T.

Eh, I suppose they would have to have a feminine state of mind..

But you still have to admit, he looks cute.

Now see, my understanding of why they're called 'Traps' is, straight guys see pictures of traps and think, "Wow, she's cute... Wait, that's a GUY? But he IS really pretty... but I'm straight!" and are thus trapped in an endless cycle of whether or not they should be attracted to said trap.

I don't think it has much to do with the state of mind of the crossdresser as much as those around them. Like, in Ai Mai Mi Strawberry Eggs... some of the male students in the school claimed to be attracted to Hibiki-Sensei, thinking he was a she. Therefore they were trapped. Therefore Hibiki-Sensei is a trap. Whether he made them gay or made Fuko a lesbian is debatable, but hey...

And besides, whether they crossdress because they enjoy it or because they have to, we should still honor it here in this club of cross-dressing, shouldn't we?

To me, "Trap" is just anyone who is close enough in between you could mistake them for another gender. And those beautiful lovely ones come to my mind when hearing it because they trap homophobic, "straight" people whose only experience with "transexuals" is all the hollywood 'freak' representations of transexuals like rocky horror, to falling for someone of the same sex.

It's a beautiful thing.
Actually, now that that's come to mind, that "tranz" club or whatever, is filled with images and depictions of exactly what I'm talking about.

Trap is part in exercise of "hey, can you tell if that's a guy or a girl? Teehee."
So it really doesn't matter so much how it occurs.

In my opinion.

Old avatar and sig retired for now.

Hm... A regular trans is not a trap, in my not-so-humble opinion...

Now, if a girl became a transvestite and kept dressing as a girl... Well, then yes, that would be a "trap".

Me? I'd stick to the definition of the term 'trap' as mentioned in the club page. Pure and simple...

I call myself trap too, even through it sounds bad and Iam really trans. I don't even give so much about special clothing, I just wear what fits me good. But thats just the little 4chan effect, if you are able to joke about yourself and call things "faggy" or "gay", I guess you can call yourself a trap too.

Sometimes by boyfriend call me his little trap too, even through he loves me as a girl.^^

So I have nothing against calling real transsexuals "traps". But I understand that a lot of people get offended by it. ^_^
