Remember the parts in the movie where they were performing?
That made me really think about how music can be enjoyed even if you don't understand the language, because music in itself, is a language.
I don't understand the Japanese language all to well, but I really do feel it in the music when I listen to it, especially from the ones with a great story that blends with the mood and just breaks you into tears(Azusa song).
I'm sure everyone that watches anime for a deep perspective all know what I'm talking about.
This anime really made me think about this.
Great anime.

Yeah I agree, I thought it was pretty touching too. It's pretty funny, because I never thought that I would get so emotional when I started watching K-ON haha.

Yeah I thought it was going to be a really chill, sweet little anime. But it has a movie to it, and I've noticed that all animes with movies are always the ones that will make you cry or are just very touching.

Anime W/ Movies Examples: Clannad, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, and probably soon to watch Stein's Gate.

I have no idea what the lyrics are saying either, but I really do enjoy listening Japanese music. All of mine are in that language, and hardly any in English. I don't know why, but I just like listening to Japanese music instead.

I think it's something different. Instead of listening to lyrics you hear mainly, you listen with, your heart, feels? But one main reason why it's so special to me is that, it connects me with the anime's story and what not, so it adds that extra meaningfulness with the song.

Might have to disagree here. When I was younger, I listened a lot to Ska-P. their music was bright, cheerful and made me kinda happy. But that all changed when the Fire nation attacked I started looking up their spanish mumbo jumbo. They were, in fact, revolting against society and the government. Like, a lot.Not even peacefully, if I remember correctly.

So, I wouldn't say music is a language. It would call it a way of communication, using language as language is using musical elements to communicate. For me, at least, foreign music makes it easy to ignore lyrical flaws (which often has to be made in order to create a better musical flow). Surely there are mayhaps songs with good lyrics, but I barely listened to a song which was awesome in both music and text. This is all but subjective, mind you. Even not being a language, music is still an important part of communication which I really don't want to miss.

I love listening to Death Devil even though I have no idea what they're saying. Same with Al-Namrood (Arabic sounds badass as HELL when sung/growled/screeched that aggressively!) and certain Atrocity songs (German ist krieg.).

This makes me wonder why people get pissy because "you can't understand death metal!" I'm like, so what?
