@Seabury Okay.

What philosphers tho.

Also I don't think is necessarily plagiarizing, I think that recreating and re contextualizing ideas of other media/art/literature is what can make a piece great, there is nothing new under the sun is something people like to say when they are mentioned something is not original, but I think the truth is not that bleak, I think that it is the ability of re-contextualizing that can give fruits to new things and new versions of things. If you are able to put all this philosophy and give me a sharp truth to my face in the span of 22 episodes, I say it is a great show. It's like that quote of legend of galactic heroes. The actions of men, regardless of the time and place, stay the same.

So what I am trying to say is that I still find valuable this show not because it gave me a new kind of logic that nobody ever came up before, but because it presented one existing philosophy in a relatable and entertaining manner.
@Hazamelis

Camus, Satre, Heidegger. I think it's actually Heidegger who had the general idea of "thrown-ness", but maybe Camus who came up with that specific dice quote (if you want to read one, go for Camus rather than Heidegger). Either way, I basically agree that recreating and re-contextualizing great philosophy is pretty great in its own right. It's just a lesser greatness, and the fact that it's lesser might not be obvious if the recreated version is your first exposure. This reminds me of people who are blown away when they watch The Matrix for the first time. I respect The Matrix for introducing ideas to people that might have never encountered them otherwise, but it's really nothing new in the world pf philosophy.

Really I think our only disagreement is whether we'd take the entirety of cowboy bebop over this arc, which is a pretty ringing endorsement of this show from the both of us LOL.

@Seabury i don't know, I still find cowboy bebop somewhat romantic about its sadness around the end which makes it feel more self indulgent to me, but I get what you mean. Thank you for the recommendations! I will look into books of them as well, I appreciate it.
