For something that's only an hour long it felt like it went on forever.

I don't get what's up with all the creepy perversions of the ova universe.

It was alright. A bit too much drama for me.

A useless but nice standalone story, offering a new balance after the Tenchi Muyô! Ryô-ôki:less comedy, more drama. I appreciated the slightly better drawings and music than in the OAVs but was expecting a bit more for the animation since it was a 60min only theatrical release.
I wasn't particularly interesting but strangely, the movie was able to retain my attention till the end (I never take a look at my watch)

Enjoyment: 4/5
Score: 6/10

I first wondered why the title was reminiscent of Shakespeare's A midsummer's dream but after learning that the "villain" was a tree spirit, I suppose it fits a little.

I didn't think I'd enjoy this movie as much as I did after a re-watch 'cause when I first watched it, it was during my "Anime is the best thing EVAAARRAR!!!!" phase lol.

But I actually like it a lot. The timeline for Tenchi can be a bit confusing, so when I first watched, I thought this was the sequel after the In Love one. But apparently, this is set in its own standalone continuity.

Mayuka's design is nice too. Cute girl! A bit sad she ended up dying, but thankfully Washu comes in with the swish, nothing but net save and is able to resurrect her as a baby.

&++ RIP to You Inoue, I had a feeling that voice was familiar!
