Im going to read the manga and im not sure whens the right time watch the ova's. Do I finish the manga and then watch them or are they independent from the story which means I can watch them at anytime? Any help would be nice.

If you're watching the anime, just watch it after the end of season 2. Not perfect continuity, but if you watch the OVA before the anime you'll spoil yourself. If you're reading the manga, you can watch it when they arrive at Acid Tokyo. The OVA is equivalent to that arc, so I guess you'll know when you get there.

And yes, the anime is terribly bad when compared to the manga. It doesn't show at all from the anime, but the manga is actually a masterpiece. I don't agree with the above comment, though; the Revelations OVA isn't half bad!

BeeTrain is a studio where common style of writing involves getting heavily intoxicated before writing. That should tell you a lot.

Anime directly contradicts manga a lot, pretends to be what it is not and completely misses the point of the show.

To make a point BeeTrain thinks its CardCaptor Sakura 2, while its actually more of an X-2 or Lost 2.

The show fluffs around with fairy-tale-esque interpretations and romance, glossing over character development or anything serious that was in the manga, seriously toning down the violence(seriously they made enemy soldiers into robots in anime, lol) and the whole philosophical mindfuck that goes on from time to time. Oh and did I mention intentional and unintentional sexism? The anime goes out of the way to make the lead heroine useless and bubbly, while she has been relatively pro-active in the manga. Not to mention that the filler-stretched nature of the show makes sure that through the majority of anime adaptation she is simply SLEEPING.

The manga on other hand starts relatively light and then with each story arc atmosphere darkens as the reasoning behind the character actions get deeper and more complex, as more and more secrets about their motivations to even do it are revealed.

Which is why Tokyo Revelations is far more jarring and shocking for people who never read the manga - its made by a different studio with direct oversight by the authors of the manga itself, so a lot of things can directly contradict the anime(since it essentially 100% ignores the anime series and just adapts a manga story arc from a point to a point)

While I agree that the manga is 100x better than the anime, I still enjoyed the anime quite a bit.

Manga= 10/10
Anime= 8/10

Anyways, watch Tokyo Revalations once you get to the Tokyo arc in the manga ^__^
