This series really changes dramatically around chapter 5 and I thought chapter 6 was very sad. I felt really bad for her brother.

It seems to me she is more like an animal than a human, in that she just inherits her memories instead of learning and she does things by instinct.

the whole series is really a metaphor for the buddhist concept of reincarnation, which if you believe in means all life goes through emanon's fate, except the rest of us get reborn into different forms and also remember nothing...which i guess could be considered sad, but it is also just the wheel of life/nature that we all must face - sometimes existence is not necessarily a pretty thing...anyways, i really love the whole emanon series - some of the most beautiful art and philosophy in the manga world!

That is a good intrepretation of it, I like that and you are probably correct.

I have been reading all the Emanon stories and the artists other works like Wandering Island cause I also think his art is one of the best.
Really enjoying it.

Man, we learned a whole lot of stuff.

The mother doesn't lose her memory immediately, she raises the daughter until she can stay on her own and loses her memory along that.

Takuma was really angry at her, so much that he set his helmet and almost Emanon on fire!! I'm pretty sure he didn't know of his ability, evolution made a big jump with him, who knows what there is still to come.

It's so sad that hey had to part ways like that, it's bitter, nothing else.

The lighter he gave her, it's the one we saw in Episode 1, I just love these kind of references. So, Episode 1 took one year after Sasurai place, good to know.

Yes, he was extremely mad with her, but I think it's wrong of both of them not to see each other, I mean I think there was a big reason why she got a brother now, maybe they are meant to learn things together or maybe he is supposed to defend her with his talent, cause he kept seeing her as a light and I think that has significance.

Wait, if the mother loses all of her memories and becomes some sort of a zombie, why was the grown up Emanon from "Omoide Emanon" acting normal? Shouldn't she be in the same state like in this one? The "real" Emamon from "Omoide Emanon" was already old enough to take care of herself.

As much as I can see the meaning behind Emanon's "ability", I have absolutely no clue why the brother was made a pyrokinesist.
