And the mother is supposed to be in her 40s? The daughter is more mature than the mother. Yeah, that dude is awful in the first volume. Beyond that part, when she happens to want to work in his restaurant and despite needing chefs, he says no women because apparently they all cry and are too emotional. The description says she falls in love with him and I can't stand him so yeah, not reading anymore. Why do the male love interests need to be assholes? The mother is very immature and it's clear she grew up spoilt and married rich where she continued to be spoilt. I'm surprised by how mature and reasonable the mc is and that's refreshing at least. She shouldn't put up with her boss treating her that way though. As soon as he said those things to her and about women, she should've left and done something else. Found another job elsewhere and worked at another cafe or something. To be fair, this was written in the 90s so it was probably progressive by those standards in Japan. |
| Momoe seems to be such a fun protagonist, a good balance between having a positive way of thinking and still having a realistic perspective of her situation. Got pleased surprised her mom is not just a spoilt rich lady that can't do nothing but is dealing with the mourning of her husband on her own way even though is not that helpful for Momoe xD The main guy sounds like a pain the ass *sigh* |
