The anime blogosphere is inundated with aniblogs. Most anime fans who read blogs flock to the most popular episodic sites (THAT Anime Blog, Random Curiosity, Anime Diet, etc.) and/or to just a select few of the others (We Remember Love, The Cart Driver, Reverse Thieves, etc.). Unfortunately, that means that out of the hundreds and hundreds of active anime blogs, only a few are read regularly. That's a shame, because many of them area really pretty good.

I thought I'd post this topic to occasionally give some picks for blogs I like to read which you may not know. Please join in and add your own recommendations!

Here's my first:

1. Anatole Serial
This site is a unique one in the anime blogosphere. The writer discusses a broad variety of anime-related topics and his writing has a captivating voice. The writer's background is also interesting - he's a CS major (expect some good analysis in his posts), an artist (he produces a web comic), and lives in Mexico (he sometimes comments about otaku culture in that country). In short - Anatole Serial provides a fresh perspective on anime.

Thanks!

Here's another one.

2. Going in Blindly
Created in with a similar novel blog in mind, Going in Blindly is written from the point of view of a blogger who is watching episodes of a non-current anime series for the first time. She goes through the anime episode by episodes. Right now, the blogger is going through Evangelion - it's fun reading her reactions as the series progresses, with most of us knowing the answer to the questions she brings up. The blog is very fun and unique in the anime blogosphere.

Now number three...

3. Simpleek
Described as "The perspective of a self-proclaimed geek, intermediate gamer, & maybe a pinch of fashionista musings," Simpleek is written by a "geek girl." I find myself time and time again retweeting links to the posts in this excellent blog.

Increasingly active in the anime blogosphere, the writer of Black Strawberry is a blog writer's blogger - she not only talks about anime, but specifically addresses concerns related to blogging and fandom.

5. Funblog
Simple in design with no frills at all, FunBlog is nonetheless one of the very best aniblogs. The writer's posts are very well-written with attention to detail, but also genuinely fun to read. His topics are interesting to - he generally chats about anime, but also sometimes talks about Japan, movies, and other related topics. His knowledge of these areas is pretty vast, so I wonder if he has or is currently living in Japan.

6. http://theblacksheeproject.blogspot.com/

A very cute site dedicated to anime and manga reviews, as well as posting music.
