It's about 8 months old now, but I saw an interview of the guy off YT, and thought some of his points, as the director, were quite intriguing and considerably changed my view of the movie. It's somewhat lengthy at 20 minutes, but definitely interesting to see his side of things. I honestly feel that this made my first viewing a bit better, as I saw how he decided to direct and show things.

Most notably, one point I found insightful--and actually quite surprising--was how he intended the film to originally center solely around Kuro instead of the duo pair. Kuro is the main centerpiece, the one struggling to aspire to the idealized Shiro or succumb to the menacing Minotaur. The idea of balance is still there, just interpreted differently. The video is here, and the segment about the Kuro/Shiro balance is at 4:48:

Thoughts?

Now that was an awesome interview! Thanks for sharing. I definitely have a new perspective on the movie after watching that.
