THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
When one would think they couldn't get any more stupid, they launch a man inside a empty sake barrel to space, really? And to even call that blindly courageous...

This is great, stupidly hilarious but great nonetheless

I was facepalming and laughing uncontrollably at the same time.

First the militia get idiotic, then they mutiny, then all is okay with a team photo? WTF?

Yeah, this was just dumb. I can't emphasize with these characters at all.

That felt like filler. We just got to know how stupid half the characters are and how weak the other half is. The sake barrel scene was pretty irritating. If anyone had actually died as a result of their stupid drunkenness, I couldn't have facepalmed more.

--And I can't believe it! The obligatory awkward girls' shower scene in every Tomino Gundam! And my mom has walked in on every single one! I can't handle how funny this is. xD There are really no other awkward scenes but that ONE clip.<3

Did they really have to risk setting off the nuke that way? Even if it meant more annoying repairs or something, how could you not bring a shield when a single hit could potentially kill you and all your friends?

Best episode in a long time. I like this episodes when the story stops for a moment and we have time to see the relationship between characters. I think I got used to Tomino's characters stupidity.

That's it. I can't take this series seriously anymore. Most of the characters are ridiculous... in a bad way.

Yet another pause in the story so close to the end, it's scary.

On the other hand, the episode itself was great in how it handled in varied ways industrial era people confronted to the interstellar space. Of course, we got a gundam bathroom scene at this occasion (but it was a nice change to the more classic ones).
First, the stupid self-assurance when facing the unknown then the resulting fear of this unknown leading to mutinery. I already saw this several times in other travel fictions but having it set in space with pre-space conquest humans made it even better.

4.5+/5 Uncalled for so late in the series but great.

@CodeBlazeFate It felt perfectly integrated but I bet this was a filler, right? And a bad one at that?

Kinda forgot about this episode, so maybe? It's the whole tribe stuff that I remember for being so far below the rest of the show's quality for me.

Holy crap that episode was friggin hilarious! Usually Tomino's comedic spots are put in at times when they're not necessary and out of nowhere. For this episode, the comedy was focused and downright hilarious. I also thought it was cute when Loran saved Sochie and Kihel from drowning.

I laughed out loud when the drunk Miltia soldier was sent out into space the in the sake barrel.. hey, we've all done crazy shit when we're drunk. I thought the explanation as to why they all went nuts was fine: they're in space, obviously know nothing about space, miserable, and insanely stubborn. I'm not so sure why people are calling the soldiers stupid.. space to them is unknown and people handle the unknown differently.

The last few episodes have been absolute stinkers and this was starting to become my least liked Gundam series. Hopefully things pick up!

It's stupid but I can see that some soldier in their age/era don't understand what meteor is ...
The last scene is sad though, at least the colonel is only thinking about his family.. I don't understand though why they wanted to go to the space in the first place (maybe I missed something)..

Guin: "Michael is a cool-headed man, Kiehl will be fine"
Also Guin: "Well he might get angry and shoot her though"

They should've told the mutineers that they were going to burn in the atmospehre, it'd be a much better way to stop them than anything else.

Nice still shot at the end. A few manipulations and it could've looked like Dezaki's famous "paintings"

Seeing Lily press Guin on his thoughts regarding Diana/Kiehl was interesting since she knows the truth already (by overhearing it from Kiehl and Fran).

Such a great, fun episode. The mutiny makes perfect sense if you consider how the Militia men are basically pre WWI people suddenly ordered to go in space. Everyone would freak out.
Sochie is also maturing: the old her would have taken part in the mutiny while cursing the moon race and their technology. Now she sees the bigger picture, good for her.

I enjoy the silly bits of the millitia crews being half idiots and little fanservice of the girls bathing. I do wonder if the guy in the barrel being thrown out in the space and no one save his ass. This kind of episode is equally important before we get into much more serious ones.

A calm and silly little episode, i like this type of episodes that slow down a bit the story, and focus on the characters' relationships.
Sochie is maturing and it's very cool to see that she doesn't take part in this silly mutiny.
The militia soldiers are so stupid that is impossibile to hate them
