Something I didn't notice the first time I watched this, he tries to save Yuu from the pain of killing his sister, but the irony here is that his grand char couldn't kill Quincy's grand char because they're basically siblings too. In other words, the relationship between the grand char's mirrors the relationship between Yuu and Quincy. Of course, if we assume that the Grand Char's reflect their owners, then we are left with the unsubtle conclusion that Quincy is a psycho bitch who will kill anyone in her way including friends and family. But of course we already knew that ;)

That episode was very dense with plot and thematic exploration. Superb direction and maybe the best episode thus far.

Some disaster relief, Mr. Mohammed returns (as an Arab failing to speak English in a Japanese accent!!) to rizz up Irene, another twink draws near to try and rizz up Hime (seriously he looks like he just escaped from Gundam Wing) and everyone has sister problems. The fighting in the end of the episode, though short, was absolutely nail-biting, though I'd have though Nikki was more likely to bite it than Quincy at this point. I suppose he does get shot down in very short order
