SHUT UP!
God I love Momoko so much for being frank and just.
Without even thinking about it, she definitely is my favorite witch and probably has been for a long time now.

Wow, an explanation of why the magic frog village is a font of Japanese old-woman jokes. Some pretty impressive world-building for a silly magical girl show.

When Majo Reed was telling her story, I thought this episode was going to serve as a counterpoint to episode 3, but it tries to be a supplement to it? It doesn't work. Majo Reed's Japanese friends' unwillingness to be honest with her (especially confounding given they know she was studying this subject and wanted to improve) cost her and her beloved frog village a lot, and yet we're supposed to believe that this was an admirable quality? Conversely, Momoko's honesty prevented her from making the same mistake with her new sweets.

And like episode 3 the effect of including reference to another culture is to insult it with excessive self-praise. "Japan is all about caring for other people"? If that were true, there wouldn't be any homeless there, let alone would they make fun of them in TV shows like Arakawa Under the Bridge.

Being honest or caring, I'm sure that depends on every single person. If Momoko is blunt, I'm sure it's because that's just her character. Anyhow, nice episode.

If Majo Reed can use magic to pretend being human, why aren't other frogs using it as well? It would be useful for witches like Majo Rika that still work in the real world. It was a good episode, but it leaves a plot hole.

"Your sight, my delight. Will you marry me?"
