Does it follow the manga?

I know that the first season has a lot of fillers. I'm currently watching the beginning of season 2. Just wondering if it continues to follow the manga storyline.. or does it have its own ending?
Thinking of picking the manga up so yeah ((:

I didn't read the manga (Maybe someday...) but someone told me that the end of the anime is not the end of the manga (Of course, because manga is still ongoing). So, yes, it's an anime invention.
