Difference(s) between Director's Cut and theatrical cut?

I have the Director's Cut DVD; I'd heard that the dubbed version of the film that was released in theaters is about 10 minutes shorter than the subbed version; however, I just watched the film subbed for the first time and I couldn't identify any scenes that weren't in the dubbed version, let alone 10 whole minutes. Is the dub version on the Director's Cut disc the same as the sub version (i.e. not the theatrical version)? Did I miss any details? Or are the cut scenes somewhere else on the disc?
