Yeah, he really sucked. In general Shiki really stumbles with trying to make the monsters sympathetic. After 17 episodes of the monster hunting their own family and friends, while being happy about it, it's hard to feel bad for any of them, when the villagers start fighting back. In fact, that part falls flat on it's face. Muroi gets pissy that the doc experimented on his undead wife to find a way to save people, because it's "bad" and then he willingly sides with mass murderers, because that's somehow not "bad". The justifications get even stupider when we know for a fact that a Shiki CAN feed without killing the person. He's a massive hypocrite, that's for sure.

Your friends, family, everything you've ever known and/or loved....

His family was killed by the villagers, led by his best (and only) friend. He has nothing left in the village and, like his book character, he just wanted to get away from it all all along.

Besides, in the end he was killed and became risen himself, so he cannot ever return even if he wanted to.

Try actually watching the series first before complaining.

Exactly. You missed the entire point of the show saying this.
The shiki might be bad hunting down humans, but the humans are also bad for brutally murdering the shiki, just because they think that the shiki are the wrongdoers.
They don't even attempt to find a way to live together in peace. They might be one.

(A thing I have in mind is that they can support the shiki in town with blood transfusions from the blood banks in the big cities - that way we don't deprive people of blood, and the shiki's won't have to hunt people.)

Seishin was an interesting character imo.
And because of exactly what this person said, I think what he's doing makes sense for him to do. It'd be his nature, because of all that he's gone through. Just like how the towns people naturally want to make the shiki suffer, if they lost someone to them.

Everyone was cruel in some way.
It's like society in the real world.
@Rin_Setsuna

If someone murders your whole family in cold blood and you kill him, you didn't do anything morally wrong.

Shiki are inherently evil. Even Toru only has a problem attacking his best friend, he has no qualms about killing someone when the nurse refuses to feed on her. The rest of them have no problem killing people indiscriminately, infact they love it!

Its the shiki who dont want to coexist. They could just suck enough blood to not kill everyone and unnecessarily inflate their own numbers. The fact that they WANT to create more of their own kind proves that they want to take over and rule over the humans.

A person like Seishin, who willingly bends over to inhuman killers and betrays his fellow townsfolk, is deeply mentally disturbed and should be held just as accountable for everything.
