| This could have been a great episode, but there were so many face-palm and out of character moments that it kind of ruined it. Fake J should have opened fire as soon as he saw Daisuke and Edmundo, for a start. This guy is supposed to be a bleedin terminator, why on earth would he not kill them why they were distracted? Let's just stand there in silence while the innocent scientist gets gunned down despite having plenty of time to yell at him to GTFO and a red tab bullet at the ready. No need for Edmundo to warn his OWN FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES that this guy had literally just machined gunned an innocent guy to death, so either start shooting or run for your lives, preferably both. Even better, Daisuke could have taken the SECOND opportunity to use the red tab at unmissable range and finish it right then and there. In fact let's not even load the red tab until the firefight is over and Fake J has killed half of Edmundo's social circle cos fuck those guys, only assholes wear sunglasses indoors anyways. And I'm not even going to mention the "comic" interlude with Boma that probably led to about 20 more people dying. It was bad enough that it took place immediately after Edmundo had witnessed 10 more of his mates getting punched into bolognese sauce before Boma told everyone to basically go fuck themselves. The annoying thing is that even if Fake J had opened fire immediately, even if Daisuke and Edmundo could warn the scientist and cops that this guy wasn't going to give himself up, the plot could have progressed in the exact same way without the main characters coming off as selfish ass holes. Even just a scene earlier in the episode where we establish that Daisuke isn't carrying a red tab in the station (why would he considering earlier episodes established that they are only issued when a justified use case is provided) and then another where he gets issued one after Fake J kills a load of coppers at the station. Judging by the wall of text I've just spewed out, this episode triggered me more than I thought! It just could have been so much better. I find myself saying that a lot about this show, a real shame because it had some truly epic moments, the gang fight two episodes ago for example. |
