Will 26 episodes be enough?

Considering that they're not just going to adapt the routes of the 4 girls and Umi (and adapt those of Shiki, Nomiki and Mizuori) and still counting on Alka and Pocket's routes, would they be able to put this in 26 episodes without it seeming too cut and with little development time for the characters? Each route lasts at least 2 hours and some 4 hours and I think that's not enough for 26 episodes and they put a lot of expectations saying that they're going to turn this anime into a masterpiece, but I don't see it being better than Clannad with only 26 episodes, even if it's one of Key's shortest games it's still too big for 26 episodes, the ideal would be for them to adapt the common routes (including Shiroha's) in the first season and leave Shiki, Alka and Pocket's route for a second season with another 26 episodes, I think that's the only way this anime could be seen as a masterpiece on the level of Clannad after story.

My personal hope was that the first 26 episodes would be the four routes. Then make a season 2 like Little Busters that could cover the other two routes.

Regardless, I think they'll have enough time. My prediction is Kamome and Tsumugi will be don't by episode 13.

Clannad is almost 2x as long, there's no way SP would get the same amount of eps.

I can see some blu ray exclusive OVAs happening tho

I would like to see them show all 4 routes. I really doubt it's going to be shown. There's other animes that were VN's first, and they were about 25 episodes long. They only did one ending what they considered the true ending. They also like to leave as many unanswered mysteries that they can. If you want to know more or unhappy with the ending, they want you to read the VN.

for all RB content is not enough, if they will focus only on main heroines, Alka and Pocket, 26 episodes enough. I think Shiki, Shizuku and Nomiki routes will become OVA or something like Little Busters EX, or if they will force Shiki route to blend with other main heroines, I guess 26 episodes still enough

I would say 26 episode should work albeit barely.
RB Content-wise all they need is Umi and Shiki route. Umi is pretty short, 2 episodes could work and Shiki is need for plot reason.
Shizuka and Nomika can be easy skip or go for an OVA instead.

Considered they seem to go for Kamome route first, it's could mean that they're skipping Shiroha route and mix it with Alka instead as the story are close and can be easier to blend it to save time.

I imagine it would be just enough to adapt the 4 main routes, plus Alka and Pockets, but with some serious cuts on other parts of the game (I wouldn't be surprised if most of the interactions with Tenzen, Ryouichi and Miki were absent for example) and a few ones to these 6 routes themselves.

Nomiki and Shizuku straight up can't be adapted without romance but we probably will get Shiki. Kanon had 4 routes from 30 hours adapted to 10, Clannad was 80 to 20, this is 50 (but that also depends on RF or not) to 10 so I think it should be fine, AIR had problems due to being 30 to 5 but the true route was done perfectly and the routes here are shorter than most other Key games so I think it should be fine

If they only adapting the Main OG 4 Heroines thats too bad

but well as long isn't as bad as rewrite adaptation

Depends on the material. At the moment, their ceiling is two cours in Kanon, split cours in Rewrite and Little Busters, and a record of almost 50 episodes in Clannad. But in the latter case, they seem to have adapted everything.

@shiroha Do you think the Rewrite adaptation is objectively bad?

Yes they said 2 cours, but nothing about the episode count.

2 cours doesnt mean it'll be 26 episodes.

Just 20-28.
