| Ho! Ly! Fuck! Now this story is finally starting its true dark reveal! Mirai, Kaya's Mother seems to be the villain of the story, and/or that sibling crossed out from Mirai and Nana's picture... So, Namu wasn't exactly correct. In fact, an ancestor of the Ebisumori who was a priestess blessed by the gods with prosperity and flourishment, generations after her death, didn't transfer her blessings to the Ebisumori family anymore. So, the family tried everything to regain her power of blessing... with the only method that worked was cursing the womb for that priestess to reincarnate in the daughter as a vessel with her power. This magic curse somehow wills every eldest daughter (Nana in this generation) to uphold psychic powers. Some stronger than others. While the womb curse, births a reincarnation of that priestess, who also has psychic powers. ... Mirai who isn't psychic and hates her family for it and who knows what else... somehow learned of and put the womb curse on herself for Kaya (which her name reads eigth god. While Nana means seven). She stole Nana's ability to birth the next priestess reincarnation somehow, even though, the psychic eldest is typically the one in tradition and apparent sense to birth the new vessel. Yet. Unknown to Nana, who Chie-sensei reveals to her... she's also put the curse once more for her latest unborn child. Which terrifies Nana... Clearly. That unborn child is incredibly dangerous, but... What happens to the original vessel (Kaya) if a new one is born?... Can two seperate entities of a reincarnated priestess exist, or can only one remain?... As for Kaya... who was born as herself. She has her own personality like Nana stated. But then who is that split/fused personality in Kaya from her powers that her grandmother was afraid of... When Nana attempted to confront Mirai and verify that unborn child, it attacked her through the door... it seems to have put a curse on her. Meanwhile... Namu finds Granny Mutsu dead. With a similar curse charm (the heart) for all ill will to turn to Nana instead of Kaya, but in this case, Granny Mutsu had one put for herself. ... As much as Mirai seems to hate her family for treating her like an outsider for being non-psychic, I'm not sure she'd be the one to kill her one mother. Sure, probably only Nana and her know that little charm, but so does that unknown other sibling, probably. Ah! I believe the great twist (going back to my original theory) is that that unknown sibling who is dead, thanks to Mirai, reincarnated in Kaya. And the unborn child, but more powerful and fuller. Evil. He or She originally tried to kill Nana for whatever reason. Now they (Mirai) killed her mother... I guess... Damn. Such an underrated manga. It gets better and better. Can't wait for the anime! |
