After 86 chapters, the escapades of Mariya, Kanako and Matsurika come to an end.

I have to say that I really liked the final arc with the Advent calendar. The final scene with Mariya, Shizu and their grandmother was particularly emotional.
It's also interesting that the two of them want to continue their lives as crossdressers - even though they officially have no reason to do so. Kanako can expect a lot. 😅

And even Tōichirō's sudden appearance out of nowhere at the very end was good for something. 😂
It's a shame that Kanako was dropped by Shizu. On the other hand, it's something different than the obligatory happy ending and probably more realistic. Considering the fact that Kanako has literally flooded Shizu with her love, it's understandable that she wants to get some distance first. Maybe they'll work on their relationship again, maybe not. That's up to us readers. 🙃

The only thing that really surprised me is that Mariya and Kanoko, our protagonists, appear relatively separately here. Until the end I was hoping for a scene in which it becomes clear that Mariya may have feelings (even if they are only friendly) for Kanko. But nothing came. 😅
I was at least hoping for a "tough on the outside, soft on the inside" moment.

At least: In the final panel there are 2 more presents on the table than at the beginning of the chapter. They can't be from Shizu, because her presents were already on the table at the beginning. So maybe a nice gesture from Mariya and Matsurika at the end? 🎁✨

All in all, I will remember Maria†Holic fondly. In many ways it wasn't the classic standard comedy. The relationship between Mariya and Kanako in particular was really unique. Somewhere between sadness, despair and love-hate.
The trio (Mariya, Matsurika, Kanako) in particular always provided amusing moments and there were even serious and more contemplative moments in between.

It's actually been 10 years since Ame no Kisaki closed its doors, so there probably won't be anything new from Mariya and Kanako in the foreseeable future. Nevertheless, I will carry the two in my heart and memory for a long time to come.✨💖
