despite its low ratings after watching the third episode and taking all the general aspects of the anime, id say this series is actually better than the original. its more refined in the sense that its straight and to the point, almost no fat or slow points, it knows what it isn't and doesn't pretend to be something its not like falling too much on the franchise's novelty, and keeps to its own strengths. simply just a better product overall, but still... just a tad bit lackluster or missing that emotional connection(maybe its going by too fast) if were comparing it to more popular IPs. that's why i feel it deserves a 7 but no higher.

A great show, the transitions between the chibi-ish ‘real world’ art, a bit like Hanako Kun, and the tall handsome gods etc in the other dimension are awesome. It’s got a good background story and stands up well even for new viewers.

everything is good except the anticlimactic endings each episode

Honestly it's a bit of a delusional take. Cheap animation, no returning characters from the saga and a small cast... both things against both Kawamori's habits with both Aquarion and Macross. His shows always relied on a large cast and cool animation. So while the writing is fine, the plot is stilted and the characters awkward with each other.

@0rphanSlayer You should check out the others, Aquarion is a great series. MOE being 12 eps sounds like a great tasting dish of what Aquarion is all about.

@Asterlet Kawamori wanted a smaller scale Delta, so idk about you, I would not claim to know the creator that well to say something that wrong. A 12 ep small scale Aquarion sounds perfectly fine, idk what stilted plot youre watching, not the expectation of returning charcters. Did Logos have returning characters.

@Asterlet No returning characters? that hasn't been a thing since evolve but if you haven't figure out who Kamisama really is by now, I suspect you have never watched a Aquarion anime.
