I've gotten into reading manga recently but only for series were I've seen the anime

If you enjoyed the anime, you’ll enjoy the manga. Both are incredible.

Also, if you’ve only seen brotherhood and not the original FMA anime, then some of the early manga content (first eight or so volumes) will be new
-ish as it was skipped/rushed in Brotherhood.

Two scenes from the manga are not adapted in Brotherhood. Otherwise the pacing, structure, and content of the manga is identacle to Brotherhood.

I still prefer the 2003 anime personally, but the manga is great too.

Unironically the best version of the story. Watched both versions of FMA when they came out and then rewatched the animes for the 3rd time a year ago after reading the manga. If the animes are 9/10s then the manga is an 10/10. Fixes the different problems in both shows while upholding both of their strengths.
