Being realistic I kinda expected Fuku-chan crossing the rainbow bridge. 18 years is a lot, in my experience with dogs.

I would be okay if from now on until the end wont have another Gaogaon. The Cures kinda hit their limit today.

Torame have standards.

When your God is in the room.

After this episode, I would enter in a physical fight against those who say Wonderful Precure is bad.

I've seen hundreds of precure episodes, but this was the one that made me come closest to crying.
Edit: Ok maybe there is another one that did that, it was the last episode of star twinkle precure, i don't know how I managed to forget that episode, even for a second.
Great episode.

Let's be honest here, though. When you consider Niko-sama and Niko Garden, we don't really know for sure that Fuku really did "cross the rainbow bridge". However, before you mention the whole "Otsuru has to say goodbye" part, it's true that she kind of had to do that, but other than that, Fuku's ultimate fate is left up to what the viewer might think, if not completely unknown. Yes Niko-sama mentioned a "final wish", but ultimately, we don't really know what is in the end. It's that vague, you guys.

Despite the vague ending, I still felt that this episode was both predictable and lame, especially with the episode's title being shown to be ironic after the fact, if not misleading. There isn't any "shiawase" in the ending, just a whole lot of "fuku" that will, you know, always be with Otsuru-san (you know, cuz "fuku" is another word that means "happiness"!). UGH! Why do even shows like this feel they need to do episodes like this? Setting aside the "educational" part of it for just a minute, could ths writers really think of nothing better to write than this?

Oh, right. There's also the whole "Niko Tyrannasaurus" part as well. That did surprise me a little, but it may have also been a shallow victory since they were only able to save the Tyrannosaurus because Torame stopped his rampage.

As for the next episode, it may just be me, but it looks like Torame is calling them out this time...

As a former dog owner who had to say goodbye to their friend, this episode hit me hard. I was bowling my eye out at the end. While I'll admit that Wonderful isn't the greatest season in the world, this episode greatly impacted me. I think the writers understand dog owners.

Lost my own elderly dog 6 months ago so this one hit close to home.

Glad they didn't just magic it away and took the more mature route here.

That ending is ominous though. Looks like a rift might be forming between Iroha and Niko. Don't know if this will be relevant later though.

Did not expect a dinosaur. I liked that they showed the impact that the damage the fights cause even if they are fixed at the end.

Didn’t come into this week’s episode expecting to cry, but wow, this was a tearjerker. Never owned a dog, but I’ve had to bury many a pet bird and fish, so I really empathise with Otsuru losing Fuku. Also think this is the first time the girls have failed to save someone so a painful but important lesson about death and grief.

Poor Iroha really devastated about not being able to save Fuku.. 😢 sad reality of life is sometimes you just can’t save everyone and have to let go. I’m glad that Komugi was able to translate Fuku’s last words to Otsuru and Niko was able to honor her final wish. Beautiful, but sad episode .

Crunchyroll really needs to learn how to properly sync subtitles because this is the fourth episode in a row with unsynced subtitles

Wasn't really that vague. Fuku most likely asked to walk again. Most of the episode show's that Fuku can't move well, and hasn't been able to for a long time. There was also a rainbow over the house, and that's just more of a sign that Fuku passed on. Still, that's just my take.

As soon as we saw Fuku-chan for the first time I knew it may be coming but I still wasn't ready for it, I thought it was just going to be about teaching kids to be mindful about elderly pets and leave it at that, I had to gather all my strength not to cry. I liked a lot how tactful and open it was, for a really young kid it will be sad but by not being overly dramatic and letting the viewer interpret the scenes then the more it is going to hit depending on maturity and personal experiences dealing with loved ones passing away, and then we have Iroha who as we saw from those pictures she basically lost and older sibling and faced reality about what may come to be with Komugi in the future.

I’m brand new to Pretty Cure with this season being my 3rd, technically 4th, and at first I didn’t think they were gonna go through with the ending to this episode. Then I remembered same company that made Ojamajo Doremi, and that episode in Naisho ripped my heart out like this episode. The writers did a fantastic job with this episode, and is one of the many reasons why I’m glad I got into this series.

Fuku chan lived a great life.

Torame have standards
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim

So you didn't like the romance (which was super cute) and you found the emotionally poignant episode about grief and learning to accept that sometimes death is unavoidable to be "predictable and lame". If you're not enjoying the show, go watch something else.

As somebody who very rarely cries over ficition, I never thought that an episode of Precure, of all things, would have me bawling my eyes out, but here we are.

That hit way too close to home. I lost my feline childhood friend 3 years ago and through Otsuru and Fuku I relived the last few months we spent together, seeing her grow weaker and lose her "shine" until getting to a very similar moment to the one at the end of the episode, in which all I could do was saying goodbye and thank you. The writing felt really authentic and I can tell it was done by people who know what it is like to love a pet.

Also, I think that it was an interesting choice to include the story about Suzu and how Otsuru grew up by her side. Their relationship clearly resembles Iroha and Komugi's, which is most likely a big part of the reason why Iroha was particularly affected by Fuku's passing, having realized that Komugi is due to depart long before her. I wonder if they'll go anywhere with that.
