Boruto is peak despite popular opinion. Any1 who’s watched the anime (manga canon), read the chapters suceeding it, and read TBV cannot deny the series’ greatness. In direct contrast to his father, Boruto is a boy who starts with everything and loses it all. The Boy Who Lost Everything. The fashion in the series is amazing and the fights are insane. I genuinely don’t understand how a series with some of the best fights is so hated upon (maybe even the greatest fight in fiction with naruto and sasuke vs momo). Any claims about the series being about “aliens” comes from people who haven’t experienced the series. Borutos peak just had to let yall know.

As someone who grew up on Naruto, I could 100% disagree. Boruto was a huge sleep fest, pretty mediocre for both anime & manga. It doesn’t feel natural, characters lost their glow, it’s like he can’t write more than 5 characters a time, it seems like Shikamaru lost his IQ and just panics all the time to me he’s the worst hokage that ever graced konoha. Kawaki is mid & corny, didn’t learn any jutsus or become any stronger, all he did was get drip lol. All in all, TBV is better and its quite decent but as a sequel to the original hit shonen jump series Naruto, he’s not there. He doesn’t have a good grasp of the foundation that Kishimoto layed for him.

I will say there are major issues. Jura and ‘em are lowkey randomly brought up and have insane power out of nowhere. They seem stronger than the ten tails itself despite being fragments of it. They’re way stronger than Juubidara who had the actual ten tails inside of him. Ur correct that shika’s intellect is hella nerfed and he’s not the best hokage. Hokage is a fraud title now I can’t lie. Kawaki should have more buffs but amado has yet to remove his limiters on his offensive potential so that’s why, but does seem he hasn’t trained much.

Peak? No way.

Being a monthly manga is not an excuse to having an incomplete story.

I don't want "anime canon" arcs aka filler to flesh out other characters. That shit should be in the manga to begin with.

I will admit TBV is better, but still, everyone is irrelevant powerwise except Boruto and the villains.

The fuck is Shikamaru doing? He's the Hokage, his village get's invaded every monday and he just.. does nothing?

Sarada has the mangekyo but her role is "damsel in distress" she's Uchiha for fucks sake.

Mitsuki? What is his purpose, being gay for Boruto? He has a cool ass Sage Mode and all he does is simping for his "sun".

Where the fuck is Kakashi? He sure could help a bit.

Konohamaru did get better tho, he developed a jutsu to counter Sasuke's chidori.

Kashin Koji is interesting, and so is Himawari, even though Kurama being inside her makes no sense.

I agree, kakashi is nowhere to be found, komohamaru is irrelevant, mitsuki is an interesting case, and shikamaru is a weird hokage. I think saradas potential will come to fruition soon. Personally, the main character is the absolutely most important thing so that’s why it’s easy for me to put aside all the side characters.

boruto reeks of a naruto wattpad fanfic. you admit they ignore side characters and yet you still call it peak

oh well, whatever you call peak shouldn't be taken seriously anyways, you gave steins;gate a 7 and ranked all the mha seasons higher

Even though I endured the around 90 something filler episodes Boruto, it still got the job done just like every other Shonen. For better or worse it’s expected to have an obsessive fanbase that is upset when their favorite character(s) aren’t how they want them to be portrayed in a sequel. Could things be done differently, sure. Just remember this takes place in the future in a period with technology and no war thanks to Naruto’s actions in Shippuden. Boruto had all the privileges Naruto didn’t, in so didn’t appreciate anything he had. Little by little there was more character development involved. Most anime now you barely see character development. This isn’t your typical 12-20 episode anime.

bcuz ur a wannabe elitist only capable of ranking by writing as opposed to emotion and impact of characters. it can be the greatest story ever written but if the characters aren’t impactful or inspiring it adds nothing to my life. SG is good tho, 7 is not a bad rating.

emotion and impact of characters is only possible through good writing...

I think a lot of the disappointment for me was that I didn't really like how the older version of my favorite characters turned out.
tho I do think it's definitely overheated and filler can just be skipped.
and honestly a lot of OG Naruto filler was hard to watch at times. (To anyone who asks me about filler I always recommend skipping all the filler through Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, and Boruto.)
But like the cannon episodes, they are even very well animated at times and I do like a lot of the new characters.

I think the villains also fall short for me [spoiler for TBV I guess].
especially in the new chapter with Code losing every encounter without his limiters on and I'm not really feeling the new tree villains either (I forgot what they are called).

BUT I definitely feel for the people who like it and I don't agree with the annoying hate this series gets
