| Jolenta's deductive skills may have earned her Oczy and Badeni's appproval, but to cross that line to see her master would warrant death. Conspicuously, Jolenta being a woman actually gives her much more credence to their work, because she could do work on their behalf and not get caught, or otherwise, and it could turn into an ugly execution. Her expertise on astronomy, or rather, the "mysterious fire" of the Solar System, as well as the Earth that moves along with it, the theories from various "ridiculous" people pile up that could become a force to be reckoned with to observe freedom and purge lies, telling her this much would defy the very faith of the normalist age, and expose the truth that still awaits to be seen. Jolenta being the scholar who dabbles on the idea of heretics, finds what Badeni tells her to be alarming, but this is only confirmed when the research meeting with Count Piast, whom has not much to live, wants the scholars to become Icarus and challenge convention. Count Piast finding Jolenta to be a victim of prejudice against the Holy Scripture (which is the normalist truth), but him knowing that she has much more to offer, he's looking forward for more. Jolenta rejecting Piast and going for gold with Oczy and Badeni, this is in direct fire against the men who knows his invaluable research on heliocentrism and the geocentric model, but more than the risks, it would be better to meet him in person to talk straight for his cooperation, which as the two men had predicted, run counter towards 50 years of his research of the cosmos. This is something etched in him, with the same ambitions as Rafal to see astronomy his way, to meet family outcasts and have the same common interest to perfect the geocentric model, being given the secretive gold astrolobe to start utilizing his talents as a way to prove that he can change history. Oh god, Piast was just one step too close, yet so far to accept that the twisted astronomy has a truth in it. |
