Dear fellow Bleach fans, for those of you who have shinigami in your husbandos/waifus (Rukia,Byakuya,Toshiro,Yoruichi,...), we all know that they're in their hundreds, so they're all grandmothers/grandfathers to us.
So, I'd like to know if the age gap generally only bothers you when it's physically remarkable?
Or is it just the time of existence that bothers you?
In fact, this question can be asked of all anime with immortal/anormally old but youthful-looking beings.
However, since Bleach is one of the anime with the most characters, even important ones, I thought it wiser to ask the question here.

This isn't a Bleach thing, it's not even just an anime thing, it's the same issue in Buffy or Twilight (in Buffy its absolutely an issue he's immortal and stalking a teenager who's so much less mature than him, he acts like a loser 35y/o while she acts 16)

age gaps tend to only matter visually because immortal people are never written to be hundreds of years more mature, they usually act as old as they look, and plus immortals don't exist irl.

Aizen is like the one exception and that's less about him seeming older and more of just a manipulation gap

well your scenarios is highly hypothetical (Immortals/hundreds to thousands of age) but anyway the best answer would be that a physical manifestations of age is what bothers people (not the gap).

not entirely true. One example of caring about mental age before physical is Rudeus from Mushoku Tensei.

Hundreds of years? Those are rookie numbers. Frieren is my favorite character and she's 1000+.

They're all Souls who age around 10× slower than humans, so it's a pointless question. Ichigo will be on his death bed while the Gotei 13 look maybe a decade older (probably less).

But honestly, I don't care about ages of 2D drawings as they're just fiction. I even had one guy calling me weird for liking Rukia since she's "underage", but arguing about physical/mental age over pixels is dumb in my opinion.
