I don't feel that way at all.

I don't think this is a pacing issues for you, but rather a plot issue.

wasn't it like that in the manga too? that's why I didn't anticipate the stage play arc because everything until they went back to takachiho felt off

After the cliffhanger on EP11 and EP12, it's slowly setting up for another intense season so I don't mind the pacing since the Tokyo Blade Arc climax rewards us with the false sense of security that Aqua's currently portraying (especially with how Akane connected the dots together).

@P0300 I don’t know, didn’t read the manga. I was planning to start after this season ended so I guess I’ll discover for myself whether my issue is with the pacing of the show or with the story.

Yeah there is no pacing issues they are adapting the manga perfectly. After this season I’d for sure say pickup the manga. I started it after s1 ep 1 and have loved it. I’d even say the manga does some scenes better than the anime. The art and art style is amazing

they're pretty consistent about adapting 3 manga chapters per episode so if the story's trundling along that's a problem it inherited from the manga

From the examples you gave, I think it's mostly a disconnect from the story they're trying to tell.

There was definitely an intensity drop after the Tokyo Blade play was finished, but it felt quite natural since it was to be expected after the climax. But there was also a different tenseness from the suspense of when will they reveal that his father didn't die which made the moment at the end of ep 11 have more of an impact. I think you can argue that Ruby's dream to meet Gorou felt suddenly blown up and deflated this episode, but they've been dropping bits regularly to remind us of how important he was to Ruby, and the reveal of her choice to name the group as "B-Komachi" to meet him again also pushed the narrative that she couldn't get over him.

One thing that did feel off to me was the convenient timing of going back to their hometown. As well as the full drop of Gorou's backstory which felt jarring even if it was consistent with ep1 and helped to contextualize Aqua's feelings towards parents and revenge.

they cut some chapters from the manga, haven't they? the room tour and original song BTS were cut probably from last episode to high pace the main story

Yeah, I guess what bothered me was the amalgamation of little things like you mentioned.

Here’s an episode focused entirely on the back and forth between the Tokyo Blade’s creator and the stage play writer perfecting the play. And then here’s Aqua’s full pre reincarnation life story crammed into 30 seconds.

Little things like that.

I don't think they have cut any chapters.
as for the song, the songs so far were Anime original content mostly and well I think they will reveal the new one after the MV is done (If you forgot, they went there to shoot the MV and not on Vacation).

I felt the pacing of Tokyo Blade arc was kind of slow, but afterwards it's just perfect.

I don't read the manga, so I can't say anything about it in the context of being an adaptation, but nothing feels rushed to me.

I don't see the issue. So far there is something happening every episode, which is great you won't get bored. If you think it's too fast, well, it's not? I mean this is how oshi no ko has always been and well... you'll just have to wait and see why exactly what happened needed to happen as fast as it did in the final episode

The pacing is perfectly fine and the plot is fire as always.

One thing is true. The different arcs from season 1 and 2 have different lengths. First arc is a single movie-episode, then season 1 gets 3 more arcs (sweet today arc, reality show, fist B-komachi concert), compared to that season 2 only gets two arcs because of how long the tokyo blade arc is. It’s very dense and a lot of stuff happened, so I don’t blame this arc for being long, but then the second arc, private, is pretty short and things go fast, much faster than the Tokyo blade arc. That’s maybe why you think the pacing is weird, but remember than next week is the finally. It must ends both this arc and the entire season.

But private isn’t short because it’s rushed, it’s short because there is a lot less stuff to do. They have a music clip to record, Ruby had to find the body and there are a few more stuff to come, but it has a lot less stuff happening than Tokyo blade. This isn’t a rushed episode because lots of stuff are coming, this is a short arc that is almost over already.

but suddenly her entire dream is crushed in just one episode

This is Oshi no Ko, why on earth did you expect things to go happily? I think the B-Komachi first concert was basically the only positive arc in the entire show. After 3 arcs of drama, it almost felt like we were watching an actual idol anime. But not every Ruby arc will be like the concert arc and especially not the private arc.

I think the timeline for Ruby having her dreams crushed is PERFECTLY paced. In the entire series so far, Ruby was seen as the positive and optimistic one while Aqua was the one being depressed and pessimistic. And at the exact moment when Aqua thinks his revenge is over and he starts to see life positively, is the moment Ruby gets crushed. As if they can’t both be happy at the same time. The parallels and the symbolisms are too good, this is great writing. I can’t get enough of it.

The only issue I have about this arc is that for a Ruby arc, we STILL have too much Aqua. His revenge is over, he’s not making the plot advance anymore, he’s not plotting anything, he’s done. AND STILL, he gets almost all screen time, going around with Akane and stuff.

Didn't like pacing in first 8 episodes of S2, to slow and not important.
The girl seems like shinigami. crows etc seems sje is not human, but some kind of deity or smth
She is mystical component also we see her im town know for it's mythology. We see her outdoors among crows, which lead Ruby to Gorou\s corpse.
The crow or raven also the metaphore for the soul. In mythology considered as both the solar hero and as a messenger of death.
It aslo may mean that in near future, events will occur that will lead to a large number of deaths.
