Is volume 4.5 filler?

I just finished reading it and I'd say so. It's set right after the events of Volume 4 and it's basically a series of slice of life episodes that happen one after the other that expand a little upon characters from the previous volume.

That means that there are snippets like what Monica did with Cyril's flower after the school festival and a side story featuring Felix taking off his mask to be "Ike" for a brief moment around Monica. Eliot's backstory is also featured briefly in a side story. There's also a part that explores how Glenn has grown as Louis' disciple and there's a scene where Elaine feels irritated by Glenn not showing her any attention. And just like previous volumes, Monica had to deal with another (minor) plot directed towards Prince Felix.

It's still an enjoyable read even if the stakes aren't that high or much of an overarching plot.
