Episode One Question - Can Anybody Answer a Question I Have?

Did the dad staple his son's wound with medical staples or construction work staples? I ask, because last time I checked, medical staples aren't a normal thing for a first aid kit and he's shown to be doing construction work at the beginning. If so, that's a major WTF moment, and bad first aide.

That was what I was thinking, but having watched further, I now wonder how much of the stuff that doesn't make sense ties back to the fact the original story was written in the 1970s when the "theory" that they talked about being debunked wasn't yet debunked and using a regular stapler for first aid wasn't known to be a bad idea, excetera, but in adapting it, they added to the issues by "modernizing" the storyline, thus a lot of things that could have been explained away by a lack of cellphone tech now can't be.

I'll start up a new thread once I'm done watching and keep this thread, but I do believe the fact nothing makes sense means yes, the dad did do just that.
