| The premise of Jun Fukuyama voicing a powerful human mage pretending to be a demon in the middle of a war with humans got me pretty excited, but this sure was a let down. Nothing wrong with the performer, Ike as a character was just a total bore who as a mage and general never managed to be anything remotely impressive despite the show insisting oh yes he was. Then there's Jiron. If I never see that painfully unfunny "comic relief" pig character again it'll be too soon. Lilith was generic and boring most of the time, but at least she bullied Jiron and was vicious to him so I'll always remember her fondly. Cefiro was a lot of fun, though. She's the only one who even cast a spell that made you go "wow!" I kept wishing Ike would die and she'd take over part way through. Alas... How did this manage to be so boring with so many sieges and pirates and magic battles and demon civil wars? It's almost impressive! Sometimes you stick with a show hoping it will get better, other times it gradually dawns on you you've made a terrible mistake. 4/10 |
| bruh, how has the demon army survived up to now? They are always heavily outnumbered and even someone like Cefiro who is heavily respected is no match by herself, so clearly their strategy game is weak compared to the human army too if it weren't for Ike. But most important of all, they are all super weak to arrows and have 0 defenses against it, so all you really had to do was bring a bunch of archers and the demon army would surely be wiped out in a single fight. Also, why bother firing rifles in turn if you aren't going to reload while your mates are shooting. The entire point of staggering your shots is to prevent any delay between your shots. |
| The ending gave me bedtime story vibes lmao, i thought they could've made s2 of the peaceful aftermath etc but decent/good anime so i'm satisfied anyways and happy ending obv is great |

| This was a really good series. I liked all the characters and Ike's mask is so cool. I'd love to see a season 2 of this especially when theres so many other series now getting them. That end promo for the source material makes it sound like more of the same and thats exactly what I want. Would love to see more of the Demon Lord as well cause her smile towards the end there was really cute. |

| The final battle felt somewhat anti climatic. Felt like Erudle didn't even try to put up a fight for some reason. I usually enjoy shows like this quite a bit, but this one felt a bit dumbed down, especially toward the end of the series. Also, the animation/cg were very low quality too. |

| Never a dull moment with Lilith around. Man Cefiro was extremely pissed of and completely destroyed that guy, thankfully Fiorentina is fine. Ike had the perfect plan, nice to see even the commander praising him for it. Jiron and the demon lord was hilarious. Great to see Ike rewarded and praise to everyone. I really hope to see another season of this sometime, I really enjoyed this from start to finish. A great mix of comedy and seriousness. 9/10 |

| And it ends just like that hehe~ This episode was more enjoyable; but most of the anime... gave off an average scent. Cefiro-sama was the driving force that led me to watch until the end. I ended up here just because of her. Maou-sama I wish she had more screen time cause she looks cool and probably there is a hidden (cute/vulnerable?) side to her xD I feel like this anime had potential to be more, but the production as a whole didn't help much. 5/10 I would be down to watch a 2nd season, though. |

| A solid enough adaption for what it was worth. Far inferior art quality and relative parity. But the source is an extremely high bar to hit in any respect. So focusing on getting out the story without cutting it. Even if you have to adapt very little of the overall work itself. Is still a good plan that they stuck to the entire runtime. Unfortunately it looks like they left room to continue, but still possibly got a definitive answer. To this version's continuation. In regards to the end credits epilogue to that ran. Shame, as this if anything really is a fantastic source material to be eventually given a Frieren level treatment of its entire environment. To the characters themselves. |
