I am just curious to know why there are so many generic Iseaki/Harem/Fantasy shows every season whereas many good anime(s) doesn't get a second season?

For example, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is one of my favorites and a great show which will probably never get a second season. There are also many other good anime(s) out there which are not being continued.

You have answered your own question.
Shows like Gorilla Isekai, Spirit Chronicles, Smartphone Isekai, Cheat Something Isekai and others are all bottom of the barrell garbage, yet somehow received sequels unlike something like NGNL.
Japanese audience consumes this shit, asks for more and studios deliver. Simple as that.

I have heard from a friend that shojo shows have a limited audience. There is a group that will watch the first season of a shojo and out of that limited group, an even smaller percentage of them is willing to watch a second season. It’s sad, but unfortunately true. Shows like NGNL and A Sign of Affection sadly fall into this category.

Yes.
Demand is high. Mangas sell a lot. Figures sell a lot. DVDs and BDs sell a lot. So, those shows get their serializations extended and their animes get multiple seasons.

The only real metrics that matter are the Oricon and the popularity polls made by the japanese magazines.
Producers and editors use those to determine what shows to push and what shows to cut off.

Isekais dominate crunchyroll too so it's the west as well, Black Summoner had more viewers than Lycoris Recoil and even Bocchi the Rock which aired the next season.

Seeing how people went nuts when Dragon Ball Super was released? I'd say many japanese are similar and jump into the next popular shounen show that is released.

Also, we need to consider the generational replacement.
As teenage boys are the ones that can consume their anime and manga more openly, and they can later spend money on merchandise when they start working, series that appeal to their tastes would be perceived as more popular.

Isekai is big even on a global scale. It is representation of the male fantasy for sub fives. Japan has tons of sub fives who could never get a gf no matter how hard they try given population is shorter on average. This is also why most hardcore hobbyists are men.

Gekkan shoujo nozaki kun is a shoujo for the most part, but many women have social lives unlike men so hobbies do not take as much priority for them..

If they weren't popular, they wouldn't be making so many of them.

to be fair Nozaki-kun didn't have much left to adapt from what I've heard. It does suck in general though, Japan has a very large amount of creepy and/or sexist men (probably not as much as Korea though) who are especially prevalent in the otaku space, and unfortunately it heavily affects what's guaranteed to have an audience and also how people perceive anime as a whole

Not to say *all* Japanese men are bad or that no good anime gain popularity, it's just why trashy ones are basically guaranteed while good, original ones aren't
