It never clicked when I was reading the novel at this point (and I never got far enough to find out if it was revealed) but I guess from this chapter and with the artwork it's now pretty obvious who Shirone's parents probably are.

how, isn't she going to die? cus shirones 16, this was 40 years ago so she would have to give birth in 24years, if it's a spoiler and she doesn't. please don't reply I haven't read the novel

I probably didn't pay attention to the timeline well enough then. I don't know that they actually are his parents – I never got that far in the novel, but it just seems too coincidental with Alfeas being described as looking just like Shirone when he was younger, and Shirone also having blue eyes like Erina does. Also with Shirone being so focused on light, and Alfeas's research having also been focused on light. I might be wrong, it just seems that's what the story is at least trying to make us think.
