I like to wait to binge everything, so I don’t wanna watch s7 if I don’t have to. When does this take place during the show?

this movie takes place before s7. I can't remember if it would be during s5 or s6 but it's basically taking place right after All Might officially passes the metaphorical torch to Midoriya

it's hard to say, but this most likely takes place during season 7, but before the war bigger war is coming.

I don't think it would be there. Deku isn't sporting the dark hero mask, and it looks like he's working with everyone.

That was in season 3. No way it would take place that far back. All of their costumes are up to date with seasons 5-6. They're most likely referencing the torching passing as a plot for the movie.

The movie has apparently aired in Japan, but we won't get it in other regions until after the last episode of season 7 has aired. I hope that means that it's after/part of season 7?

Gonna be pretty annoyed if I watched season 7 with a chunk of story missing.

@ACEOFGODS This movie has nothing to do with the overall story. The only thing from the movies ever referenced is Melissa Shield's existence. You could skip this entirely and miss nothing.

@JoeRequiem I'm glad to hear that, actually. I was a bit bothered when I couldn't find any sources for a movie that, by release date, predated the current season that's only a week away from finishing.

Really appreciate you clearing that up for me!
