| i watched the sequel by itself a lot of the first ultimate muscle early eps are really outdated, read the manga so you can watch this one but you will be confused to what going on though |

This is a continuation, you would need to watch or read everything before thing (except nisei) to understand it, there is no other way, there will be a recap episode but recaping 150 episodes in 20 minutes is not possible
The anime has kinda dated animation but a banger soundtrack and voice acting
The manga has better art I think I never read it, but there is no banger soundtrack and VA

| @CrunchyCrobat Thanks for the info. And how's the old anime faithful to the manga? Was planning to watch or read that, and I don't want to miss something. Also, from the first impression, is this a worthy successor? Didn't they censor or alter things too much? |

| @Nemo_Niemand I've been watching anime and reading the manga at the same time. The anime is kinda faithful but at the same time it's not. It adds some characters, removes others, and it even cut a whole part of one arc I've seen (probably happens more in future episodes). It also has a lot of padding and minor filler and is a lot heavier on the gags compared to the manga. Luckily, manga chapters are almost all 12-13 pages long, so it's a fast read. So if you can do only one, definitely read the manga. |
| I've been watching this without having seen any of the others, or read the manga. I've been enjoying it just fine and plan to go back and watch the others after, I do feel like I'd probably enjoy this more having seen the others. But I don't think it's as sacrilegious as some make it sound to jump in here and then go back afterwards. |
