We all know that doors have quite the variety between themselves, and there is a lot of them so I'll try to put every type of doors here, I will surely miss a few variations but I will do my best. Alright lets dive in

1: Panel doors the most common type of doors, often made from wood with quite a bit of variation being the :
One panel to a number of panels which is most often then not 8 its hard to find a door with more than 8 panels but they do exist here is the differences of the most known panel doors
here is a representation of the most common panel doors :

2: Sliding doors A sliding door is a type of door which opens horizontally by sliding, usually parallel to (and sometimes within) a wall. Sliding doors can be mounted either on top of a track below or be suspended from a track above. Some types slide into a space in the parallel wall in the direction of travel, rather than the door sliding along the outside of the parallel wall. There are several types of sliding doors, such as pocket doors, sliding glass doors, center-opening doors, and bypass doors. Sliding doors are commonly used as shower doors, glass doors, screen doors, and wardrobe doors, and in vans. Here are the major types of sliding doors

3: Folding doors A folding door is a type of door which opens by folding back in sections or so-called panels. Folding doors are also known as 'bi-fold doors', in spite of them most often having more than two panels. Another term is 'concertina' doors, inspired by the musical instrument of the same name.

Folding doors can be used as internal or external room dividers and are made from a variety of materials. Most folding doors are glazed and the panels have frames of either wood, aluminium or upvc. They can open up and fold either internally or externally and are widely used in modern extensions. Here is the major types of folding doors :

4:Colonial Doors
Colonial doors are a distinctly European design that our American forefathers took with them when they colonized the New World (hence the name). Colonial doors are largely symmetrical and come in pairs, with one or several recessed panels framed by stiles and rails. Some panel doors (like the ones discussed above) are sometimes even called Colonial or Colonial panels.
Here are the major types :

5: Louvered door has fixed or movable wooden fins (often called slats or louvers) which permit open ventilation while preserving privacy and preventing the passage of light to the interior. Being relatively weak structures, they are most commonly used for wardrobes and drying rooms, where security is of less importance than good ventilation, although a very similar structure is commonly used to form window shutters. Double louvred doors were introduced into Seagate, built in Florida in 1929 by Gwendolyn and Powel Crosley, that provided the desired circulation of air with an added degree of privacy in that it is impossible to see through the fins in any direction. Here are the major types :

6: Door Lites
Some doors have panels that use glass instead of wood. These panels are called “lites.” These lites emit illumination and are often frosted or decorated for privacy. Here are the major types :

7: Functional Doors
Functional doors are more than just entryways. While there are various types of doors for every conceivable need, these two below are the most commonly found in American homes. Here are the major types :

8: Revolving doors : A revolving door typically consists of three or four doors that hang on a central shaft and rotate around a vertical axis within a cylindrical enclosure. To use a revolving door, a person enters the enclosure between two of the doors and then moves continuously to the desired exit while keeping pace with the doors.

Revolving doors were designed to relieve the immense pressure caused by air rushing through high-rise buildings (referred to as stack effect pressure) while at the same time allowing large numbers of people to pass in and out. They are also energy efficient; they act as an airlock to prevent drafts, decreasing the loss of heating or cooling for the building as compared to a standard door.

9: Pocket doors A pocket door is a sliding door that, when fully open, disappears into a compartment in the adjacent wall. Pocket doors are used for architectural effect, or when there is no room for the swing of a hinged door. They can travel on rollers suspended from an overhead track or tracks or guides along the floor.

10: Barn doors, there are 2 versions single barn door and double barn door, they are very similar to pocket doors but they do not disappear in the wall

11: Accordion door is a door that works differently than a traditional hinged door or bifold door. Accordion doors do not have hinges attaching them to the wall. Instead, they have tracks with rollers. The rollers slide along the track, and the door folds and unfolds as it slides. They create partitions between spaces.

12: Roller doors : There are three types of rollers doors which are used for garage:
A. Manual Roller Shutter Doors
Manual roller shutter doors require human effort to open and close. They are typically operated using a hand chain, winding handle, or crank mechanism. These doors are suitable for smaller installations, where automation is not necessary or desired.

B. Electric Roller Shutter Doors
Electric roller shutter doors are motorized and allow for easy operation via a switch, remote control, or smartphone app. These doors are ideal for larger installations or for those requiring frequent access, providing convenience and ease of use.

C. Push-Pull Roller Shutter Doors
Push-pull roller shutter doors are manually operated but use a unique system that allows them to be easily pushed or pulled open and closed. These doors are ideal for medium-sized installations where manual operation is preferred, but convenience is still a priority.

13: Saloon doors Saloon doors originated in the Wild West, symbolizing adventure and cowboy culture.
Designed with swinging functionality and ornate details for easy passage and privacy.
Crafted from wood or metal for durability and aesthetic appeal in various settings.
Regular maintenance, inspections, and care ensure longevity and safety of saloon doors. Their history traces back to the time with Wild West.

14: Security doors They are doors often made of metal meant for security mostly, their goal is to make sure no one enters without permission.

15: Automatic doors : An automatic door, also known as an auto door, is a door that opens automatically, without the need for human intervention or usually upon sensing the approach of a person. A person can be detected by microwave pulses, infrared sensors, or pressure-sensing pads.

16: Fire doors : A fire door is a door with a fire-resistance rating (sometimes referred to as a fire protection rating for closures) used as part of a passive fire protection system to reduce the spread of fire and smoke between separate compartments of a structure and to enable safe egress from a building or structure or ship. In North American building codes, it, along with fire dampers, is often referred to as a closure, which can be de-rated compared against the fire separation that contains it, provided that this barrier is not a firewall or an occupancy separation.

17 : Double action doors Doors made to be opened from two ways without handle you just push them

18: Hidden doors : Hidden doors are made to look like they are not door but they actually are, anything or almost can be a door from bookcase to just the wall itself.

19: Sculptural doors: These doors are made to be art pieces (even tho I would argue that all doors are art pieces its hard to put them in only one category since each of them fit in many categories but its often doors with patterns on them or highly decorated or in interesting shapes ,etc.

20: Blast-Proof Doors : Similar to fire doors but with a slightly different goal, where one protects you from fire the other protects you from explosions making it harder to make since it needs a way higher resistance.

21: Circular Sliding Doors : Instead of sliding horizontally, these doors slide into a curved wall, creating a circular opening.

22: Smart doors : Yes you heard me right, straight up from science fiction, those doors have things like facial recognition or other high tech stuff even tho they are really primitive at the moment of writing this.

23: Swiss Door: A door within a door; a smaller door built into a larger one, often used in medieval architecture but can be found in quirky modern designs.

24: Gullwing Doors : Typically seen in cars, these doors open upward and outward, resembling the wings of a seagull, and can be adapted for unique architectural uses.

25: Kinetic Doors : These doors have moving parts that transform as they open or close. They might feature segments that shift or rotate in a synchronized manner, creating a mesmerizing mechanical motion.

holy man this was long. But for doors it was worth it to be honest.
