| Especially compared to what I would consider the show's peers in the Super Robot Genre. Many other robots main purpose, and the function of their additional tools is to deal damage, to beat greater foes. GaoGaiGar, though, has something different going on. HoRyu and EnRyu are rescue vehicles, and the first, most important tools are used to prevent collateral damage, like the Dividing Driver, Eraser Head, and even the Pliers. I think it's a very interesting difference to notice when compared to things like the Mazinger's Scrander or Great Booster, or even more recently like the things Bravern makes in that show |
