| I guess this would technically be "Side Story 1." Definitely much more intense & in line with what I was feeling with the first chapter. Well, rejecting your own child is something you shouldn't ever do, no matter what your views are. I could feel for the mom in certain regards, but wish she'd been more understanding at the most crucial moment when it counted. I had a similar experience with my parents as a child where their rejection created a sense of distrust that I haven't been able to completely close. Though the way Ryousuke's parents softened with age felt very relatable. 20 years ago, I never could have shared my love for anime & manga with my parents. Now my mom regularly watches K-Dramas on Netflix and is a proud card carrying member of the (BTS) ARMY. |
