She's had slight moments of genuine seriousness in the past, mainly with Kazuma's behavior with YunYun at the beginning of the movie. But the LNs made it a bit more clear that this was always a side of her.

If it helps, the rest of this season is Darkness focused, and next episode you get a big ol' M moment with her!

There's more to Darkness than just her masochism. @Othawastz She's been one dimensional with heavy focus on her sexual assault fetishes and being useless in fight till now.

In this season, all 3 girls are more of secondary characters till now as focus is on Kazuna and Princess. When focus is back in Darkness, she'll again be portrayed as in last season's.
