This seems like it will be a good story and has some great instances of layered conversation which can serve as a good peek into the culture of the time but... I just can't find myself liking stories like this where the protagonist was essentially kidnapped and forced into a potential romance against their will?
What's even more infuriating is how weak-willed the protagonists are in their escape plans. I won't spoil anything here, but there were numerous moments where she could have carried out her plans to get out without bumping into silly obstacles at each point. |
