I mean, I don't want to sound like typical Fujiyoshi, but the way he acted when he was about to go on stage to give a speech (disappointment for just an "ah") and then was so desperate when he found out that Akimune considered him a friend is super suspicious. Mutsumi said he wasn't interested in women, so there might be something to it. Also using first name all the time and that hand touch scene? Totally sus...
Or maybe he just didn't had friends and it was one of his many quirks...
